On Friday, August 16, Omar dismissed Malala’s claims linking Party Chairperson Governor Cecily Mbarire and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah to his ouster as the SG.
UDA founders dismiss Malala’s claims, call for disciplinary action: “Collaborating with detractors”
Omar said the party doesn’t wish to be drawn into the dramas being instigated by Malala given his stint as the SG was allegedly characterised by failed leadership.
“Malala’s colourless stint as Secretary General was characterized by melodrama, toxicity, missteps, discord, ruin; a failed leadership in all aspects. The Party therefore does not wish to be drawn into endless shenanigans recognizing its status as the party of the president, the nation’s ruling Party,” Omar said.
Omar rebuked the former Kakamega senator for linking his ouster to the alleged planned impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
“In this regard, the Party notes with great concern the frantic efforts by Malala to link his ouster with unfounded, imaginary and purported impeachment of the Deputy President HE Hon Rigathi Gachagua,” he added.
UDA party SG accused Malala of seeking sympathy by invoking the name of the deputy president after his lawful removal from his position.

Omar cautioned Malala against roping Mberire into the debate around the impeachment of the deputy president, arguing that the UDA party is not a lawmaker.
“We wish to caution Malala against roping the Party and particularly its Chairperson and the Majority Leader in the political shenanigans of an unfounded claim of Deputy President’s impeachment and seek his sympathies through any other means.”As a Party, we find his behaviour unbecoming and inappropriate for former SG Malala to drag her name and that of the Majority Leader in such an unfounded claim of the impeachment of the country’s Deputy President and must be asked to stop this rave,” he added.
