In most Zelda games, Link finds rupees throughout the world by cutting grass, smashing pots or finding treasure chests. However, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lacks easy-to-find rupees, meaning players must find other ways to make money. While these techniques are still available, they won’t be enough. This is especially true with the game’s high-end loot, which often costs thousands of precious rupees. Although there aren’t as many ways to make money in the game compared to its sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, there are a few ways to farm Rupees.
Since it’s the first open-world game in the series, everything is spread out, and players will mainly resort to selling items. Players will have to be more strategic and creative to get a lot of Rupees, especially if they’re in need of higher-priced gear towards the end of the game. However, if Link can stumble upon particularly rare ones, he’ll receive worthwhile compensation for his efforts. The best weapon to mine gems with is the Cobble Crusher which can be found easily in Goron City. It has a high duriblty and can destroy ores in two strikes.
The player has little control over what gems they find in the game. However, the Sapphire and Diamond are the most profitable, at 260 and 500 rupees, respectively. If the player can find a good number, they’ll want to look for Ramella, the Gerudo in Goron City. She pays more for gems than anyone else in the game.

Although this isn’t the best way to farm Rupees and treasure, it’s helpful to have when exploring.
Get Prime Meat and Rupees at the Same Time
At Hateno Village, a man named Dantz wants Link’s help hunting some deer. If Link can kill all 10 deer in the 60-second time limit, he’ll be rewarded with a decent 50 Rupees. While a 50 Rupee reward is fine, the real prize of the hunt is the prime meat the deer drop. Make sure Link is equipped with a powerful bow, so the deer are killed in one shot.
If made into a skewer, the meat can be sold for much higher prices than the actual reward from the mini-game. Two ways to make money in one gig isn’t a bad deal at all. Effectively, Hateno Village provides a way for the player to profit from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s cooking while being rewarded for collecting the materials.
