The Naija Ludo League is an exciting new venture by MPL Naija, aiming to build on the success of the Naija Whot League. MPL Naija Ludo Dice has already established itself as one of the most popular online mobile games, bringing a modern twist to the traditional Ludo board game.
To help you climb the ranks and become a Ludo champion in the league, we spoke to two MPL Naija Ludo pro-gamers and members of Tribe, Africa’s largest gaming community: Emmanuel Omadudu and Ayodele Taiye James (Fela). Let’s get into their insights, advice, strategies, and tips for Ludo players.
What excites you the most about the introduction of the Naija Ludo League?
Emmanuel: “The winning prizes are really eye-catching, and as a big player of Ludo on MPL, I’m really excited about it.”
Fela: “Excited is the world. As a huge MPL Ludo player, I’m excited for the competition.”
How do you think this league will impact the popularity of MPL Naija Ludo Dice?
Emmanuel: “Tournaments like this always raise awareness and draw new players to the community.”
Fela: “It’ll definitely attract more people wanting to win a share of the prize pool.”
Can you share some of your strategies for climbing the leaderboard in the Naija Ludo League?
Emmanuel: “My strategy is quite simple. I make sure to have two pieces for defence and the other two for offence. I leave two pieces at home and use the other two to attack. I believe defence is more important than offence because it has kept me successful till today.”
Fela: “Yes. Understanding the game and gaining experience is part of my strategy. I start by playing for free to understand any new styles the algorithm brings. After that, I’m ready to jump into paid matches.”
What are the top three tips you would give to beginners looking to improve their MPL Naja Ludo Dice gameplay?
Emmanuel: “Practice, practice, and practice in the free game mode on MPL Naija Ludo Dice. Also, be patient and don’t rush the game.”
Fela: “First, I would urge them to be calm. Second, I would ask them to always take risks in the safest way. Third, I would ask them to start from the lowest lobby to gain their confidence.”
Are there any common mistakes that new players should avoid?
Emmanuel: “Simple. If you don’t get a good dice roll, be patient and wait for the next roll.”
Fela: “Yes, there are common mistakes that new players make, but I’d rather not reveal them and give away my edge! I wouldn’t want to have them used against me.”
How important is strategy versus luck in MPL Ludo, and can you share an example where strategy made a significant difference in your game?
Emmanuel: “Strategy is important and can make you win more games, but it’s useless without luck. If you’re lucky with no strategy, you’ll win fewer games. That’s why it’s necessary to have a good strategy and stick to it.”
Fela: “Strategy works mainly on new players and also depends on experience. In other words, it is most effective against newbies. Luck, on the other hand, comes into play when you need that perfect roll to win.”
What are some advanced tactics that experienced players use to gain an edge over their opponents?
Emmanuel: “Experienced players know when to take the game slow and when to play fast. I’ve won many games by playing slow that I would have lost if I had played faster. Time-wasting is also a strategy that should be learned.”
Fela: “That one is hard to explain because I wouldn’t want anyone to use my tactics against me.”
How do you stay focused and maintain a winning streak during intense matches?
Emmanuel: “I just trust and follow my strategy. Even when I’m losing, I don’t change my strategy.”
Fela: “I focus on understanding the game and try to think several moves ahead of my opponent(s).”
Can you describe a particularly memorable game you played on MPL Naija Ludo Dice? What made it special?
Emmanuel: “There have been many memorable games, but the most memorable are the ones where I won a game I was about to lose. Nothing is better than that.”
Fela: “Not really. I can’t say there’s a specific one that comes to mind.”
How has playing MPL Naija Ludo Dice impacted your daily life or routine?
Emmanuel: “MPL Ludo has a really great influence on my daily routine. I have to wake up around 6 am to be ready to play the game when the Ludo leaderboard opens at 7 am. From 7 am to 9 pm, I try to juggle my day while playing the MPL game.”
Fela: “It’s different for me. I really only play when I am not busy.”
What motivates you to keep playing and competing at a high level?
Emmanuel: “As a student, MPL is where I get my daily income from, so that’s a big motivator to keep playing and improving.”
Fela: “The urge and desire to make money from won matches motivates me.”
Do you have any rituals or routines before starting a game or competition?
Emmanuel: “It might sound funny but I take time out for self-care. I make sure to get enough sleep and eat before starting a game or competition. I also practice the game.”
Fela: “Nope, no rituals. I just jump in and play”
What are your thoughts on the competitive scene?
Emmanuel: “The MPL Ludo is one of the most competitive leaderboards after the MPL Whot leaderboard. You always have to keep playing to stay at the top of the board.”
Fela: “It’s very crazy here, especially on Sundays when the leaderboard prizes are higher.”
How do you see the future of competitive Ludo evolving, especially in Nigeria?
Emmanuel: “Very bright and vibrant. I believe that the competition will increase as soon as the MPL Naija Ludo League kicks off.”
Fela: “I’m afraid I can’t really comment on that.”
What role do you think the Naija Ludo League will play in the broader gaming community?
Emmanuel: “This league is a game-changer for the Nigerian gaming community. There’s nothing quite like MPL Ludo out there.”
Fela: “I’m sure it will gain the hearts of more players if it keeps up its consistency.”
How do you prepare for major competitions like the Naija Ludo League?
Emmanuel: “I always make sure to have enough sleep so I can compete at a high level for a long time.”
Fela: “Making sure I have enough funds deposited, like around 40k.”
What advice would you give to aspiring pro gamers looking to break into the competitive Ludo scene?
Emmanuel: “The beginning will be tough, but after a while, you’ll start getting it and challenging for a higher board, just like I did.”
Fela: “Always start from scratch. It’s as easy as that.”
How important is the MPL Naija Ludo Dice community to your gaming experience?
Emmanuel: “The community is very important. I’ve made a lot of great friends through the MPL community.”
