If there’s one home site I check at least once a month, it’s Lulu and Georgia. Whether I’m clicking its new arrivals page or simply looking for design inspiration, it’s one of my favorite places to “window shop” (the Los Angeles-based brand doesn’t have any physical locations, just an online store). For anyone who has left a Lulu and Georgia review on its Instagram or dropped a “this brand is bougie” text message in their friend group chat (guilty), you know this is the place to shop for high-quality furniture and decor you can’t find anywhere else. “Our products are made in a variety of locations,” Sarah Poulios, senior vice president of buying and inventory planning, says. “We recently launched our first line of bedding and bath made in Europe leveraging quality materials like European flax and Turkish cotton. Our rug assortment is handmade and/or handwoven in India.” Meanwhile, Lulu and Georgia’s made-to-order upholstered furniture is built by skilled craftsmen across North Carolina, California, and Virginia. “We partner with many artisans and ceramicists that hand make pieces throughout the U.S., including Los Angeles and Brooklyn,” Poulios adds.
Whatever you want or feel like your home is missing—be it a baby blue sectional sofa, a pair of delicate cocktail glasses, or an antique-looking mirror—Lulu and Georgia will have it. Plus, you can rest assured the luxurious pieces you’re getting won’t be found in every home in the country because they’re not mass-produced (almost all the furniture is made-to-order and takes six to eight weeks to produce!). Who Owns Lulu and Georgia?
The California-based company was founded in 2012 by Sara Sugarman, who comes from a family of interior designers. In fact, the company’s name is a nod to her grandfather “Lou,” who had a rug showroom in West Hollywood called Decorative Carpets, and her father “George.” What started as an e-commerce side hustle for Sugarman while working for her grandfather eventually blossomed into a multi-million dollar company named Lulu and Georgia.

What Is the Lulu and Georgia Aesthetic?
When you buy furniture and decor, you want it to match your aesthetic, and luckily, this brand will have something for everyone. “We develop products for a range of aesthetics, which has resulted in the wide appeal of the brand,” Poulios says. “Our aesthetics include earthy and organic, a more playful and trend-forward mix, as well as an updated version of traditional or ‘new traditional.'”

According to Poulios, the brand has been historically known for its “innovative rug design and livable aesthetic,” and over the years, Lulu and Georgia have evolved into a place for one-of-a-kind treasures across all major home categories. This includes furniture, lighting, wall decor, bedding, kitchenware, and even outdoor furniture. My personal favorite pieces include the Lee Tall Dresser and this marble coffee table that weighs 200 pounds.
