Out of all the thousands of businesses out there in the online space, only a few have truly adapted to the world of mobile users. Whether that’s creating content for mobile devices, adapting existing businesses to fit the mobile model, or just creating new ideas completely, here are the industries out there making the most of mobile technology today.
Online Casino
Ranking high both on lists of mobile-friendly industries and fastest-growing industries, online casinos have been doing incredibly well over the last couple of decades. In some markets, the industry has experienced double-digit growth every year for many years, and while the mobile element is only one side of the business, it has certainly been a major factor behind that success.

The types of games now available on mobile have expanded beyond the classic slots as well. Mobile players can now enjoy everything from digital scratch cards to free bingo at Paddy Power and other giants of the market, to full VR-integrated casino titles via an attached headset. Every new game created by casino developers is now mobile-first in design, and apps for both the sites and games are a standard feature of the largest providers.
Fintech
Between factors like the rise of the digital nomad lifestyle that sees people working from different countries each month and new trends in money like cryptocurrency, fintech going mobile was a natural move. The ability to manage finances, banking, and investment on the move has had a lot of demand, and outside the established banking entities, there has been massive growth in new, mobile-only options.
Probably the biggest individual success story globally has been the payment and banking app Revolut, who have upended the banking market in many countries by offering entirely remote options. At a time when banks are cutting back on the number of physical branches they have on offer, Revolut was able to capitalise on this and in a relatively short time have become a significant alternative to traditional banking.
Digital Marketing
With the vast majority of Internet users now accessing their content via mobile device, those in marketing, branding, and all other related specialisms have had to adapt. While some old approaches were transferable, there have been a wealth of new tools to use that have made mobile marketing a discipline in its own right.

Even putting aside the vast marketing power of social media platforms like Facebook, digital marketing companies have managed to harness the inherent features of mobile devices. Apps, message pushes, notifications and QR codes have all been serving as tools to get messages across and promote services and products by simply using in-built mechanisms that are impossible for other mediums. As a result, mobile marketing has become the fastest and often the cheapest form and looks set to be the standard going forward.
Judging by the way that investment and the customer base is going, mobile looks set to be the dominant medium for the future. While the industries above have adapted well, it remains to be seen how much integration other markets will manage.
