On what is now a private and locked Pinterest account, a Bethesda employee created a Pinterest board with various pins that many have come to believe were being used as inspiration for the development of The Elder Scrolls 6. This isn’t the first time a Bethesda employee’s Pinterest board has leaked with similar pins either, making it even more likely that the two boards are connected to the game’s development. Many fans have since felt it confirmed their theories about The Elder Scrolls 6’s setting, although it has yet to be outright confirmed or denied by Bethesda.

Since The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced, fans have speculated on its setting, despite almost no clear information being provided in the very brief announcement trailer. One of the most popular theories suggests The Elder Scrolls 6 will finally take players to Hammerfell, a harsh and unforgiving land west of Cyrodiil. This is all due to specific details shown in the announcement trailer for the game, which many eagle-eyed fans have picked out and shared with the gaming community.
In The Elder Scrolls 6’s announcement trailer, the terrain that is shown appears to match that of Hammerfell, along with the shape of one portion of the land matching Hammerfell’s northern coast. White birds also appear in the trailer, which have only ever been seen in Hammerfell and Solstheim. However, the land itself gives no other indication that it could be Solstheim. Snow-capped mountains also appear in the distance, seeming to match the location of the Jerall mountains that run along the borders of northern Cyrodiil and southern Skyrim. Add to that the countless references to Hammerfell in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, and the theory is pretty solid.
A Bethesda Employee’s Recent Pinterest Board Appears to Confirm Theories That The Elder Scrolls 6 Is Set in Hammerfell
As if the announcement trailer wasn’t enough evidence already, a Bethesda employee seems to have accidentally confirmed theories that The Elder Scrolls 6 is set in Hammerfell. When it was still visible to the public, the Pinterest board showed articles of clothing depicting those that might originate from the land of Hammerfell. Specifically, the board shows Redguard-esque attire, character models, weapons, and environments. Even the blades pinned on the Pinterest board are curved — a detail that has been heavily memed since some of the guards in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim seemed to mention it at any given opportunity.
Of course, none of this has been confirmed, including whether the Pinterest board belongs to a Bethesda employee. That being said, the owner of the Pinterest board was previously pinning Starfield-themed items and has since begun pinning Hammerfell-themed items, so there is enough evidence to suggest a connection. Furthermore, the fact that the account is now private seems suspicious. Time will tell if these theories are true, however, and whether The Elder Scrolls 6 is finally taking players to Hammerfell.
