Pegasystems Inc., the low-code automation software company, is enhancing its suite of artificial intelligence development tools today with a host of new updates.
The new capabilities within the Pega Infinity platform are all about accelerating the development of generative AI in particular, with the goal of building applications that can enhance employee productivity and optimize customer experiences.
Pegasystems is a provider of low-code automation software that enables workers who aren’t programmers to automate manual tasks, unify business processes and customer journeys. Pega Infinity is one of the most popular modules within its platform, specifically focused on helping teams to develop AI automations.
With the latest release, the company is enhancing many of the industry verticals within the Pega Infinity platform, including Pega Platform, Pega Customer Decision Hub, Pega Customer Service and Pega Sales Automation, making it easier for various teams to build AI applications that align with their business much faster than before.
One of the most visible changes is that Pega Infinity is expanding access to multiple large language models. Previously, users were restricted to using OpenAI’s LLMs and tools as the basis of their generative AI apps, but they can now employ services such as Amazon Web Services Inc.’s Bedrock and Google Cloud’s Vertex AI. That gives customers the flexibility to choose from various models.
The company is also updating the Pega GenAI Blueprint tool, which enables users to transform their ideas for generative AI applications into interactive blueprints, so anyone can understand and build them. With the update, users can now import their generative AI app blueprints into Pega’s App Studio, which will provide users with simple, step-by-step guidelines on how to build that application and move it into production.
Meanwhile, Pega Infinity is integrating “Pega GenAI Coaches” across all of its applications. The Pega GenAI Coach is a generative AI-powered “mentor” that provides users with simple, natural language guidance on how to use Pegasystems’ various tools. With the update, developers can create a Pega GenAI Coach for any application they create using the platform, so users can easily understand how to use it.
The Pega Customer Decision Hub, which is aimed at marketers and data scientists looking to leverage customer data insights, is getting a ton of new updates. These include improved access and control for customer journey orchestration, the ability to create and integrate stronger brand voices and maintain brand identity across all customer interactions, and integrations with Snowflake and Google BigQuery. There’s also a new Pega Message Stream digital delivery service, which allows marketing teams to deliver, monitor and optimize emails in Pega CDH without using a separate email service platform.
Finally, the Pega Customer Service and Pega Sales Automation suites gain various new “agentic AI” capabilities, so companies can create AI chatbots that can take actions on behalf of their customers.
For instance, Pega-based chatbots will now be able to leverage knowledge articles, customized offers and next steps to more easily resolve customers issues within their live chat interfaces, and they can also assist human customer service agents by helping them to dig up the information they need to deal with callers more quickly. And Pega Sales Automation now integrates with Microsoft Teams, in addition to Zoom and Webex, making it easier for users of that platform to optimize virtual sales meetings and close deals faster, the company said.
Pega Chief Product Officer Kerim Akgonul AI automation is rapidly transforming how enterprises get things done. “Pega Infinity’s latest enhancements supercharge enterprise efficiency and innovation with deeper generative AI capabilities that accelerate developer and employee productivity,” he said.
Pegasystems said the latest updates to Pega Infinity are available to use now for all Pega Cloud subscribers.
