The Humane Society of Mason County is warning the public about a spam email circulating in the community.
According to the organization, someone is sending messages while pretending to be a volunteer. The email claims, “I tried sending you the documents as email attachments, but the files were too large. I’ve sent them again using Adobe’s Secure Upload to ensure they are delivered properly.”
The Humane Society says the message is fake and urges recipients not to click any links. Instead, they advise deleting the email immediately.
If you are expecting a message from the Humane Society, officials recommend calling them first to verify that the communication is legitimate.
