Tell Yourself: I have confusion and that’s okay. Recognizing and accepting my fears is a strength. Day 9 of the Self Confidence Challenge
Welcome back! Hope the day is treating you grand.
Yesterday, we chatted about the fact that having pain…. is okay.
Today, I want to dive coffeecup-first into the topic of….
Confusion.
One of the things people think self-confident people NEVER have… is confusion.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Well, lots of things CAN be further from the truth, like vaccines cause autism, but I digress.
Self-confident folk DO run into confusion (heck, everyone does!) but they tend to weigh the benefits of each possible outcome, determine which offers the best return, and get on with things.
They don’t let confusion stop them permanently in their place! To wit:
So.
It’s okay to encounter confusing roadblocks in your journey towards self-confidence….
… what matters is how you resolve them!
Here’s one way.
- Step 1.) Accept exactly what your confusion is about. What is the decision that’s currently halting you from moving forward? Give it a name. If it helps, imagine that Fluffy the Wonder Confusion Dragon is patiently explaining it to you.
- Step 2.) Write down what your options are. Give yourself permission to gain clarity over the choices that are facing you.
- Step 3.) For each option, write down BOTH the good and bad things that would happen if you choose it. That way you are spelling things out in black and white and can refer back to them when needed.
With me so far?
Alrighty then. Now comes the most important part:
Give yourself permission to get rid of distractions and…. end the confusion by *making* a decision.
See, that’s where the rubber meets the road…
The coffee meets the cup….
The moose meets the zoomies….
You know what I mean. 🙂 Now, you might end up making the wrong decision, and if so…..
These things happen. Keep in mind, if you do *nothing*…. you won’t move forward whatsoever.
Your final take-away?
The future is always in motion… and giving into confusion simply delays the future you deserve.
So! On your journey to self-confidence…
It’s okay to be confused.
Give yourself permission to accept your confusion, resolve your confusion, and then move on.
Your future self will thank you.
Woot!
