Kids. Lovely.
And what the adults in marketing land dealt with as well! I’m reminded of this comment by Marc MacYoung:
“…That is you’re seeing a new type of bully. That is someone who attacks emotionally and verbally, but is relying on there being no physical retaliation for their actions — no matter how extreme. These individuals often have mixed ideology and self-granted-moral-righteousness (e.g., from their feelings or ‘rights’) into the status, self-esteem and self-soothing issues common to bullies.
Their attacks aren’t just about them getting off on it, they’re acting for something bigger and more noble.
This greater reason is why you have no right to respond to their actions.
But more than that, they use this as an excuse and self-permission for their aggression…..”

Don’t forget yesterdays:
Rather nonoptimal day. Forced myself to get to the pool for aquajogging but wow – because my ankle is fused, I can’t move it…. but the body *wants* to move it… and yep.
End result wasn’t pretty but! at least I did get my workout done. Spent most of the afternoon, however, in bed with the ankle elevated.
Life happens. It’s up to me to make sure it happens to the best of my abilities!

Where was I? Ah yes, Tuesday!
My, what a day yesterday. There I was, driving to Shoprite, when I encountered Mr. Snapping Turtle below.
He was definitely a wee bit more ferocious than the robin I discovered 2 days ago!
Now, if you’re not aware, Snapping Turtles are called Snapping Turtles for a reason.
Those jaws could take off a finger if you’re unwise enough to leave it close!
So I managed to herd Mr. ST into a milk crate (don’t ask why I was carrying one in my moose mobile), and then place him gently by the stream near the road. And yep, he was snapping all the while.
Whew!
Elsewhere in Lingland, school ends soon.. .and that means Camp Ling begins!
10th year of that I might add.
I think this year, the focus will be self-confidence, weight loss and college. For some kids, that means putting up a resume site… for others, it means creating products of their own.
If you want to see change… BE CHANGE.
Which reminds me….
You have 2 choices these days in life….
- Be negative
- Be positive
There’s a lot of negativity that shrieks, look at meeeeee!!!!!!
Such jerks.
But you’re better than that.
Instead of dwelling on what others are doing…
Focus instead on *you*… *your family*…. and what can make your life better.
(I wrote up more over at My Gratitude Post of Yesterday – I think you’ll enjoy it bunches).

It’s Memorial Day here in the States…. and contrary to popular belief, it’s NOT meant to enjoy bbqs! It’s to remember those who died in support of their country and the sacrifices they’ve made.
Learn more about Memorial Day over at http://www.history.com/topics/holidays/memorial-day-history …. and if you see a serivceman or servicewoman today in the stores, buy them a cup of coffee or whatever they are in line for.
They do what the rest of us…. don’t.
And that’s something to value.

First, heck froze over. I took off the day! 🙂
Next:
Remember how I had mentioned 2 days ago that we found a stunned birdie in the road? Well, yesterday on my way to Shoprite, the same thing happened…. I saw a birdie lying on its side right on the yellow divider stripes. 🙁
Shoprite forgotten, I returned to the birdie, picked him and noticed that like the other one, the feet were weird (and he was missing a tail too). I think he might have been attacked by a predator and dropped his tail in response.
I brought him home, woke up my youngest and said, new patient!
Here’s a sideways picture:
But the difference with this birdie is that he might simply have been stunned/frightened. He perked himself up afterwhile, flew around the ceiling a bit…..
… and then later that morning, we put him in a tree and watched him go.
Very satisfying indeed!
Plus… I gave myself permission yesterday to rest… and it was glorious with a capital G! ‘course, it wouldn’t be a Ling Weekend without some angst… I’ll write up about that shortly.
