Cleaning up is a full-time job in the world of PowerWash Simulator 2, and there’s plenty of money to be made beautifying the game’s locales. Furniture, cosmetics, and of course new powerwashing equipment don’t come cheap, so if you want to unlock everything you’ll need to clear off every speck of dirt you find.
Bigger jobs means more pay, but is there a way to strategically make sure you get the most out of washing? Let’s take a look at how money and PowerWash Points are earned in game, and what the best approach is.
How To Earn Money And PowerWash Points

PowerWash Simulator 2 has two currencies:
- Money, indicated by a dollar sign, is used to purchase washer equipment and upgrades, like nozzles and extensions.
- PowerWash Points, indicated by a circle with the letter P, are used for everything else; namely, furniture and cosmetics.
In short, if something has an in-game use, you buy it with money; if it’s purely cosmetic, you buy it with PowerWash Points.
Money can only be earned the first time you play through a job, while PowerWash Points can be earned in both Story and Free Play. The first time you play a job in Story Mode, each Wash Task you complete earns a bit of money. The total amount that can be earned from the job is the sum of the cash you earn from completing all tasks in the job. When you play the job over again in Free Play, these cash rewards are replaced with PowerWash Points.
If you open the Task List for your current job, you’ll see that tasks are grouped together, breaking down large objects into smaller chunks. For example, a single face of a building or the individual parts of a machine might be grouped together. When you complete all the tasks in a group, you’ll receive a bonus in PowerWash Points to spend on cosmetics or furniture.
You can only have 2000 PowerWash Points banked at a time, so be sure to spend what you have before starting a new job if you’re near the limit.
Best Strategy For Earning Money In PowerWash Simulator 2

Since you can only get cash in Story Mode, and PowerWash Point rewards are fairly small in Free Play, the fastest way to load up your PowerWasher’s bank account is to play the Story Jobs as they come, and focus on finishing them all. Doing so should earn you enough to buy everything you could possibly need. However, there’s a trick that can help speed up the process.
You can freely buy and sell washer equipment at no loss. That means if you’re a few bucks short of the next tier of equipment, you can sell your old stuff to make up the difference, then buy it back later to fill your inventory for the Maxed Out Achievement/Trophy. In this way, the money that you’ve earned in the game works more like van capacity than actual currency.
