Pinterest has appointed Julie Henderson as Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, with the appointment taking effect on July 13. Henderson shared the update through a LinkedIn post.
Henderson brings over three decades of experience in corporate communications, advising some of the world’s leading technology and media companies through phases of growth, transformation and strategic evolution.
In her new position, she will head Pinterest’s global communications organisation, with responsibility for corporate, product, policy, financial, consumer, international and internal communications. She will report to Claudine Cheever and work closely with Bill Ready.
Most recently, Henderson served as Chief Communications Officer at Snap Inc., where she was part of the executive leadership team and led the company’s worldwide communications strategy.
Before joining Snap, Henderson held the role of Chief Communications Officer at 21st Century Fox. She previously served in the same capacity at News Corp. During her tenure at both organisations, she advised senior leadership on major business transformations, strategic transactions, as well as policy and regulatory issues.
Earlier in her career, Henderson held a number of leadership roles spanning communications and corporate strategy at News Corp. She also led the digital practice at MPRM Public Relations, advising technology entrepreneurs, startups and established media companies as they adapted to the fast-changing digital media landscape.
