This is one of those videos that you just have to see because it’s so cute and unbelievable. Unlikely animal friendships are nothing new, but it’s the way these two play: full on Wrestlemania mode. They’re absolutely comfortable with each other, and you can tell by watching that they’ve been doing this forever.
A Tortoise is in slow-but-steady bulldozer mode, just absolutely running over a dog. The dog? He does not mind AT ALL! He thinks it’s the funnest game in the world: dodging, weaving, chomping. They are so utterly at ease with each other, and if you look back at the creator’s videos, they have a long history together. Good friends meet for daily play sessions where they just keep running the same playbook and never get sick of it.
Their videos are wildly popular, and each runs up anywhere between thousands and millions of views. This one, which required a helping hand from a human when the dog accidentally flipped the tortoise on his back and a woman had to step in to flip the playmate back over, racked up over 2 million views!
In this one, the dog gets uncontrollable zoomies, which also ends with the poor tortoise on his back. LOL! Doesn’t take much to flip this poor baby. Over 1 million people clicked on this one.
This is my favorite and showcases some Grade A zoomies on behalf of the dog and even some agility work where he does some excellent jumpwork over the Tortoise! Hilarious.
It’s very obvious that these two have a very special friendship, and in this last video that’s been viewed 6.6 million times, the duo takes a quick break from their usual feral full-on whackadoo antics to show each other what looks like genuine affection. There’s some nuzzling and rubbing — ok, ok, there’s some slight gnawing thrown in — but they really do look like they’re being as sweet as these two know how to be with each other.
There’s something so endearing about a friendship that makes absolutely no sense on paper but works beautifully in real life. We’re lucky we get front row seats to witness it unfold every day.
