Alex Drummond Jokes George Loves Baby Sofia’s New Toy

After a long, snowy winter, Alex Drummond and her kids are back to soaking up every minute of outdoor playtime. To celebrate the long-awaited return of warm weather (hello, spring!), Alex bought her 15-month-old girl, Sofia, the ultimate outdoor toy: a water table. But even though the new toy is technically Sofia’s, George seems to be claiming it as his own!

In a new video Alex posted on Instagram this week, George looks like he’s living his best life while sticking his head beneath the trickling stream and lapping up the water pooling in the basin. “Idk who is having more fun Sofia or George 🤣,” Alex joked in the caption.

But when George dips his snout in the water and takes a long drink right where Sofia is trying to play, she shoves him out of the way and proceeds to pick up a toy fish and plop it into her mouth. (Alex actually didn’t catch this moment until the following day, but when she did, she posted a slow-motion clip with Sofia’s internal monologue: “Dude, can you give me a little space, please.”) George, who’s seemingly unfazed by the push, just shakes the water off of his mane and walks around to the other side of the table with his tail wagging. “Georgie!” Alex says, laughing.

Sofia continues to give each of the rubber toys a taste while George sits off to the side, patiently waiting his turn. “Georgie, what do you think?” Alex asks him. George remains calm as he watches Sofia pick up her toys, probably looking for a safe opening, so he can join the fun again!

In the next video Alex uploaded to her Instagram Story, Alex asks Sofia, “Do you love it? Do you like your new toy?” Meanwhile, Sofia is just trying to figure out how this thing works! She pokes her head underneath the upper level of the water table, like she’s curious where the stream is coming from. When Alex pans the camera over to George, he’s rolling around in the grass. “Don’t mind Bubbas over here,” Alex teases in the video. “He’s just trying to make it all about him.”

Once George is somewhat dry, he tries chewing on one of the rubber toys that’s fallen on the ground before Alex tosses it into the pool with the rest of them. As if Sofia is putting on a show for him, George moves right next to the edge, watching his little sister shuffle through the toys, mesmerized. “‘I rlly appreciate you guys being this new toy for me’ — George probably,” Alex joked in the caption. Once the coast is clear and Sofia is distracted enough, George makes his way over to his original spot by the water table and picks up the same squishy toy in triumph.

A little while later, Alex confirmed in another video that this water table is “already the best purchase ever!!” Since it was keeping her kids thoroughly entertained, it gave her the rare opportunity to kick back and relax. “Y’all weren’t kidding when you said this thing could entertain them for hours,” Alex says in the video while lying on a blanket in the grass. “We’ve been out here for like an hour, and she’s still going at it, and so is Georgie!” Alex even went as far as to say that the water table is “the best purchase of the year.”

But she wasn’t completely off duty! Just as Alex turns the camera to where her kids and husband, Mauricio, are playing, Mauricio squirts one of the water toys in her direction. “Oh my gosh! Mauricio just sprayed my face with water,” Alex exclaims, laughing it off like a good sport.

There’s no doubt that this water table will be getting a lot of action in the coming months—and, hopefully, giving us more sweet family moments like this one!
