Adoptable pets Conan and Dolly from Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge Inc.

Meet NorthJersey.com’s adoptable pets of the week for Nov. 21!

Each week, NorthJersey.com would like to highlight adoptable animals from local shelters and rescues.

If you foster, work at, or volunteer with a North Jersey animal shelter or rescue and know of some animals who are in need of a loving fur-ever home please send a photo, description and adoption information to amwallace@gannett.com to have your adoptable pets featured in the next edition.

This week we are featuring Conan and Dolly from Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge Inc.

Conan

Conan was found terrified on the median of Route 280 with a deep gash above his eye. After being rescued by a state trooper, he was brought to RBARI. Now, with medical care and love, his life and personality have completely transformed.

Once timid, Conan now loves pets so much that he will gently prod your hand to ask for more. He is thriving in the rescue’s free-roam room, happily hanging out with his fellow adoptable cats and soaking up every “hello” from staff and volunteers.

At almost 2 years old, Conan is great with other cats, curious about dogs and ready to be someone’s devoted companion.

Dolly

Dolly is an 11-month-old, 70 lbs shepherd pup who has been let down too many times in her short life.

This girl is adorable, super smart and quick to bond, the rescue referring to her as a “Velcro dog” who needs an active family committed to consistency, training and exercise. She needs a shepherd savvy home that will embrace her protective nature and help her thrive.

Dolly is friendly with staff and volunteers and, with proper introduction, could be placed in a home with another large dog. Cats and small animals are not a match for Dolly.
