Apple AAPL is starting to turn its long delayed Siri AI upgrade into a subscription opportunity, tying higher usage limits for some Apple Intelligence features to iCloud+ plans.
During its keynote, Apple said many Apple Intelligence tools will remain free, but some features, including image generation, will have daily usage limits because they depend on powerful server based models. Users who want more access will be able to get it through most iCloud+ subscription plans.
That matters because Apple already has a huge installed base and a subscription structure in place. iCloud+ starts at $0.99 per month for 50GB of storage, followed by $2.99 for 200GB. Higher tiers cost $10.99, $32.99 and $64.99 per month. Apple One starts at $19.95 per month and also includes iCloud+.
this is an early sign of how Apple may monetize AI without launching a separate ChatGPT style subscription. The next question is how much users are willing to pay for expanded Siri and Apple Intelligence access.
