Trump Calls Iran ‘DEAD,’ Posts AI Clip of Attack on Island

Hours after the US struck Iranian targets for the first time in a month, President Trump resumed his online attacks as well. Iran is a “Failed Nation” and “DEAD,” the president wrote on Truth Social. He added that any reports to the contrary amount to “BULL—-,” reports Mediaite. Trump reiterated his claims that US attacks have decimated the nation’s military, and asserted that the nation’s leadership is in “disarray” and should face war-crime trials over the killing of protesters. Trump also posted an AI-generated clip showing Kharg Island “blown to smithereens,” though he didn’t specify it wasn’t real, notes the New York Post.

As for the renewed military attacks, US Central Command described Sunday’s strikes as “limited, precise” and aimed at an “imminent threat” to a key oil pipeline. Iran responded by firing ballistic missiles toward two US bases in Jordan, where officials say eight were intercepted. There were no reports of US damage or injuries. All of the above has sent oil prices higher, with international Brent crude up more than 3% to $91 a barrel, reports CNBC. The major indexes opened lower on Monday, with the S&P 500 down 0.4%, the Dow 0.5%, and the Nasdaq 0.3%.
