The Sorcerer’s Secret to Increasing Your Quality?

So there I was, lying in bed.

Yep, I was hoping I’d win the sleep lottery draw! (Translation – I didn’t sleep much last night, and sleep would’ve been mighty nice indeed. Ah well, these things happen.)

Anywhos, while trying to become one with the Universe, I let my subconscious wander through everything I’ve learned over the past few weeks.

Then I asked myself:

“Self, do you truly enjoy what you do?”

Why? Well, I figure the more someone enjoys their work, the more they’ll improve at it!

And for me? Hmmmm. I enjoy product creation. I enjoy answering people’s questions. I enjoy making a positive change in their lives. All that good coffee-scented stuff.

But you know what I do NOT enjoy?

Writing sales pages!

Matter of fact, I’ve got a Godzilla-sized resistance to them, which creates quite the tiny little flaming problem.

No sales pages means no buy buttons.

So, the best way to speed up that process is to make sales page creation feel… fun.

But how do I do that, she asked, as Godzilla requested a Snickers bar while idly watching the Sorcerer?

I don’t have all the answers quite yet, but I do know this.

If I can pull something I enjoy out of sales page creation, I can start retraining my brain so my SPF – sales page feelings – don’t immediately sink while searching for the Titanic.

And amazingly enough, there ARE a few things I enjoy!

Okay. Maybe one thing.  But it matters!

It’s the most glorious of techieGoodness… templates!

I love creating templates that make fine-tuning sales pages easier, faster, and less like wrestling an octopus in a raincoat.

What else do I enjoy?

Well, the products Dennis and I create are excellent. Refunds stay low. Satisfaction stays high. People receive excellent quality!

So if I zoom out from “Woe is me, I’m stuck creating sales pages” and climb one, two, or possibly 63 levels higher, I can reframe the thing I dislike into something better.

Say…

Instead of “I’m typing another sales page,” I can think:

“Hey, I’m creating the shopping-lane bobsled that lets readers go Wheeeee! straight to the Buy Button!”

Yep, it sounds ridiculous. But you know something?

If it works – and I’m about to test it now – that beats climbing aboard the soul-searing Wahmobile and honking sadly all the way down to Product Launch Town, right?

Instead, I’m focusing on what comes later.

  • The ability to impact customers in a positive fashion!
  • Happy customers!
  • Superior results!

Heck, even…

  • Tiny business confetti!

Of course, that’s just me, and that’s not the important part here.

The important part is YOU!

Do you love what you’re doing work-wise right now?

If not, and if you still have to DO that work, give yourself permission to reframe the thing that frosts your petunias.

Maybe you’ll discover one piece of it that adds wings to your fingers!

Or even your feet is what you hate is running marathons wearing 63 pounds of Arctic gear.

Who knows what you’ll discover next?  It could be that one breakthru that enables you to catapult yourself to the next crucial level.  Wouldn’t THAT be coo?
