Dogs are incredible creatures. Wouldn’t you agree?
I had an interesting thing happen to me this week in the new/old home we just bought. We are in the process of spending our first full week living in our new/old Twin Falls residence; our two dogs are adjusting as well.
Our home’s backyard faces an alley. We also have neighbors on both sides. We’re not talking about our ‘forever home’ here, but instead a project home we hope to rent out at some point in 2027.

Recently, while I was preparing to shower, I decided to run some tools into our detached garage before getting in. We have a fully fenced-in backyard that offers almost total privacy, so I didn’t think much of it.

I heard a thud against the door I had just closed behind me. Our one-year-old chocolate Lab has a habit of trying to bolt outside anytime someone opens it. That thud turned out to be ‘Milo’ knocking the deadbolt into the locked position.
I had to walk around the house to the driveway to knock on my 11-year-old son’s bedroom window. It was at this time that my neighbor pulled into her driveway. I’m not sure if I managed to get back into my yard before she saw me, or if she thinks I was trying to peer into her windows in my underwear.
Our next meeting might be awkward.
