What are you looking forward to about the new Tech in Gov Europe conference launching in 2027?
We caught up with Anna-Liisa Tampuu, Steering Committee member for the upcoming launch of Tech in Gov Europe about the prospect of expanding our platform to cater for government advancing specifically digital public infrastructure. The launch, will co-exist with Identity Week Europe in 2027, an event that has rocketed in popularity over the years to amass a wonderful delegation of attendees across the public and private sector and attracting support from the EU Commission, member states and governments.
Tampuu elaborated on how the advancements in technology like AI and quantum have impacted the way we plan future projects and digital strategies in government. This innovation poses challenges for the governments in adapting to new technologies, in terms of speed, safety, trust and external factors such as the economy.
She discussed the challenges and opportunities in conducting innovation projects or testing new technologies from the view of standards, which are not fully developed yet, budgets and pressure to build secure systems.
All industries are implementing AI solutions, but particularly from a public services perspective, this has been met by the expectations to set a strategic approach to adopting AI, which considers the pace of development, budgetary limits, and understanding what is safe whilst complying with the AI Act.
Before making these comments at Identity Week Europe in June, Anna-Liisa said: “I have been looking forward to a space that brings together all topics that are relevant for implementing technologies (particularly for the public sector) and would offer a wider strategic lens in doing so. AI, quantum, strategic directions for digitalisation, legislation, and lessons from other countries – that is all useful and helpful to share our knowledge, lessons learnt, insight and foresight”.
Tech in Gov Europe is being launched next year (15-16 June) has arrived at the right time and embodies “everything the government is working towards”.
