With classic Semrush, we might say “we moved from position 11 to 5 for X topic.” That is useful. With Semrush One, we can add, and now, when people ask AI assistants about that particular topic, our brand is starting to show up in those answers too, although we are still behind competitors for some prompts.

That second sentence is what we were missing before.

When we create new content now, we often look at both the main keyword and the real questions users ask AI tools. We then make sure our article answers those questions clearly and directly. That helps both Google and AI systems understand and use the content.

Site Audit is still one of our favourite parts of Semrush, and Semrush One keeps all of it.

When we run an audit, we see familiar issues like broken pages, redirect problems, thin content and slow templates. We fix those because they hurt both rankings and user experience.

This feature is where the review becomes less about “the site” and more about “the brand”.

We discovered that in a few areas, we were known mainly as a “statistics site”, while competitors were being mentioned more often for “best tools” guides and tutorials. That confirmed we needed to strengthen those content types if we wanted to balance that perception.

It is a bit like checking your reputation in a room you cannot see, but where decisions about you are being made anyway.

6. Competitor Insights (Google + AI)

We still use the standard Semrush tools to see which pages drive traffic for competitors, which keywords we are missing, and where their link profiles are stronger.

The difference is that we now also ask “how are they doing in AI?”

We then ask:

  • Can we create something genuinely better and more useful?
  • Can we make it more up-to-date?

Over time, this has changed our content planning. We are not just filling keyword gaps. We are also chasing “AI mention gaps” where we believe we should be present, but are not.
