SCAM ALERT: Dunlap police address fraudulent email scam | Local News


The Dunlap Police Department is warning residents about a fraudulent email that is circulating, falsely appearing to be from Bledsoe Telephone Cooperative.

According to police, the scam email claims that an autopay transaction has failed and urges recipients to click a link or provide personal or financial information. Authorities say the message is not legitimate and is part of a phishing attempt.

Bledsoe Telephone Cooperative has confirmed the email did not originate from them.

Police are advising the public to take the following precautions:

  • Do not click on any links contained in the email.
  • Do not provide personal or financial information.
  • Delete the email immediately if it is received.

Officials remind residents to always verify the source of unexpected emails or payment notices before taking any action.
