MEREDITH — Financial Advisor Matt Rigatti from Pointes North Wealth Management will be at the Meredith Public Library to discuss Retirement Income Planning: Make Your Money Last on Thursday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m. Rigatti explains the good news is that many people are living longer lives. The bad news? That generally translates into a longer period of time that people need their retirement income to last.
Life expectancy has increased at a steady pace over the years and is expected to continue increasing. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, the average 65-year-old American can expect to live for another 18.4 years. For many people, it’s not unreasonable to plan for a retirement that lasts for 25 years or more, which means retirees’ income and savings will need to last that long as well.
As with all of the Financial Planning sessions at the library, there will be time for Q&A after the session regarding the topic of the evening as well as other financial planning issues on attendees’ minds.
