Today’s Musings
OMG. Honestly, I really don’t know *where* I am right now, but I *do* know that its the right path. I can’t remember the last time experienced this…
See, it was when my spouse and I were exercising together, and discussing how great life was almost 40 years ago when we worked at Bell Labs. To be perfectly frank, we were both the Nerd’s Nerd (romantic weekend afternoons over SPARC station monitors for the win!) and we could talk for hours on end about the magnificence of David Korn, Korn Shell, how to fix cars, building up our own version of self-confidence and the like.
Here though was the big reveal – the ending of that convo? I spoke outloud, *finally*, what *really* makes me happy these days re: work and it was/is:
I *love* helping people.
I really do! I love being able to teach those who are eager to learn. Heck, I’ll even help out once or twice for free (mental note – explain why I never offer freebies anymore), and the happiness in the person’s voice (or what I imagine their face must be showing) – it’s THE ultimate kick/enjoyment for me. So I’m now building out the entire eco-system for Virtual Coach (which will involve befriending dragons instead of slaying them, adding in gamification and more).
It took me decades to *finally* grok this.
Your takeaway?
If at all possible, STOP (stop right now) doing what others tell you to do!
You’re a grown woman or man – and life wasn’t meant to be endured. You probably spend at least 1/3 of said life *at* work, so why not make that business task something enjoyable?
It is to think. More importantly…. it’s:

Have you ever stumbled across the term “digital printables”? Think Etsy, Redbubble, and their cousins – those downloadable nuggets of joy that range from board games to slick templates to all sorts of quirky little goodies. Handy, fast, and wildly popular.
And would you believe… you do not have to stop with everyday items! One of the biggest printable booms? Holiday printables. Take Halloween, for instance, for Etsy, try

Exactly! In those final frantic days before Halloween, one category of printable takes off like a rocket. I followed my own advice, peeked outside the usual box, and guess what? Printable games, worksheets, and even escape rooms go absolutely wild in demand.
