Introduction
On Feb 28th, the following updated goodies were found!
Adobe Quick Cut (Beta)
Adobe just dropped Quick Cut into their Firefly video editor – and woot! This one is actually useful.
You upload your clips, type what you want the video to do, and it assembles a rough cut for you automatically. People-wise, think of it like hiring a very fast intern who doesn’t talk back (You still do the creative direction). Quick Cut handles the “click drag click drag oh no wrong clip” part and for creators who dread the timeline, this is genuinely worth a look.
Who’s this for? Video creators, course sellers, anyone producing content regularly. It’s still in beta, so expect some weirdness. But the direction is solid.
Google Flow
Google relaunched Flow as a full creative studio – text, images, and video all in one (just 1!) place. They’re using their Veo video model plus image tools like Whisk and ImageFX, all bundled under one roof.
Honestly? The lasso editing alone is interesting!
You can select part of an image and say “change only this” – which is the thing we’ve all wanted forever. Over 1.5 billion assets have been generated since launch, so people are clearly using it. Paid tiers unlock more horsepower.
If you’re currently juggling three different AI tools to make one piece of content, Flow is worth watching. Now, it’s not perfect yet. But the idea of one login for your whole creative pipeline is appealing in a “why didn’t someone do this sooner” kind of way.
And finally:
Perplexity Computer
This one is the wild card of the week!
Perplexity Computer uses 19 specialized AI models working together to run complex, multi-hour (or multi-month) tasks for you. Market research, report writing, campaign analysis – it can kick off the work and actually *do* it while you do other things. They’re calling it a “digital employee” and for once that’s not total marketing fluff.
It’s available to Max subscribers right now. The catch here is you need to be comfortable handing over tasks to something you can’t fully see working. Some people will love that while others might need a minute.
But… If you’ve ever thought “I wish I had an assistant who could just handle the research,” this is worth knowing about – even if you’re not ready to jump yet.
Enjoy!
