Penn Medicine and Lancaster General Health on Thursday warned patients to be on the lookout for scam emails and text messages posing as links to the medical records portal used by the health system.
The emails in question are disguised to look like they came from the MyChart system — operating under the MyLGHealth or MyPennMedicine labels. The systems are what patients use to send messages to medical staff, book appointments, pay bills, review test results and more.
According to Penn Medicine, the messages promise benefits like a “MyChart Medicare Kit” or “Senior Health Package.” Recipients are then asked to click a link and enter their personal account information.
Penn Medicine said patients should check any messages to verify they are genuine. Legitimate messages come from official email or text addresses:

— MyLGHealth email: MyLGHealth_NOREPLY@lghealth.org
— MyLGHealth text short code: 84629
Anyone who receives a suspicious email is warned not to click the links and mark the message as spam or junk.
