Israel hired former US campaign aide to lead AI influence project — report

Israel has launched a multimillion-dollar campaign, spearheaded by Brad Parscale, to reshape how AI platforms portray the nation.

He served as campaign manager during US President Trump’s 2020 re-election bid.

Israel hired Republican digital strategist in september to oversee a pro-Israel social media and digital outreach initiative, according to Axios.

Parscale’s team embarked on a project aimed at getting AI systems to portray Israel in a more “favourable light.”

According to the report, Parscale believed platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini were predominantly drawing on anti-Israel information that fuelled negative sentiment.

To counter this, Market Brew, an AI modelling company that Parscale’s firm invests in, began injecting Israel-friendly content into the “online bloodstream.”

AI-focused campaign

The team created nine websites, including paxpoint.org and factsignal.org, whose content is designed to match how AI platforms “think.”
