Making good money in the early hours of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen can be hard, but the Nugget Bridge money glitch makes it so you can make infinite cash fast. Because the new FRLG ports are nearly exactly the same as they were when they came out on the Game Boy Advance back in 2004, it turns out this particular technical exploit is still in both games’ files, too.
Making the most of this glitch requires a very specific process, but you can soon wind up with all the Poké Dollars you need for the entire playthrough. Here’s the exact step-by-step walkthrough on how to make money fast with the Nugget Bridge glitch in FRLG.
How To Make Money With The Nugget Bridge Glitch

In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, the Nugget Bridge Glitch can allow you to make infinite cash fast by allowing you to take the Nugget from the Rocket Grunt at the end of the Nugget Bridge in Cerulean City, lose to him in battle on purpose, whiteout, and respawn at the Pokémon Center with the Nugget (worth 5000 Poké Dollars) in your inventory — enabling you to repeat the process again, and take as many Nuggets until you’re satisfied.
Getting To Nugget Bridge
If you’re not in Cerulean City yet, you’ll first need to defeat the Rock-type Gym Leader Brock in Pewter City. Then, you can access Route 3, make it to the other side of Mt. Moon, and finally make it to Cerulean City after wandering along Route 4 to the right.

North of Cerulean City is the Nugget Bridge. You’ll know you’re heading the right way when your rival meets you at the bottom and challenges you to a battle. Beat him, and then you can take on the five Trainers scattered above the length of the Nugget Bridge.
The Rocket Grunt In Disguise

After you defeat the fifth Trainer, the NPC with his back to the hedge is the Team Rocket Grunt in disguise. It turns out that Nugget, which he gave to you as a prize, is an incentive to try and recruit you into the criminal organization.
Your character says no automatically, and the Rocket Grunt will want to challenge you to a battle.
Before you speak to him, though, save your game, go back to the Pokémon Center, deposit your whole team, and withdraw just one weak, low-level Pokémon that his Level 15 Ekans can defeat in one move and makes the process of taking advantage of this glitch far quicker.

In this case, we used a Level 2 Mankey we picked on Route 2. Once the Rocket Grunt’s Ekans defeats you, you’ll will whiteout and end up back in the Pokémon Center.

Check your bag, and you will see the Nugget that the Rocket Grunt gave you is still in your bag. You can sell each Nugget to a Poke Mart for 5000 Poké Dollars.
What’s more, though, the rest of your progress has still reset to before the Rocket Grunt gave you the Nugget; so, as long as you don’t defeat him, he’ll give you a free Nugget every time you approach him again after losing.
Repeating The Glitch For As Much Money As You Like
From the Cerulean City Pokémon Center, to running back to the Rocket Grunt, getting another Nugget, battling him, and losing again, it took us about 72 seconds. That means you can 60,000 Poké Dollars’ worth of Nuggets in just 12 minutes of rinsing and repeating FireRed and LeafGreen’s infinite Nugget Bridge money glitch.
Before you start taking advantage of the glitch, though, go to the Poke Mart and spend the rest of your money on whatever Poke Balls or extra items you need.
This is because you would normally lose a bit of your money every time you lose a battle, but if you have none left when losing to this Rocket Grunt anyway, you’re not losing any extra cash in exchange for getting those glitched Nuggets.

Other Ways To Make Money Fast

Amulet Coin
If you’ve already defeated the Team Rocket Grunt at Nugget Bridge, this sadly means you’ll no longer be able to exploit the infinite money glitch, but there are other ways to make cash fast — like using the Amulet Coin to double the prize money you get from battles.
Specifially, the Amulet Coin is a hold item you get from one of Professor Oak’s Aides on the Route 16 building that’s west of Celadon City. As long as you have 40 different Pokémon in your Pokédex, he’ll give this item to you right away, and you can give it to whatever Pokemon you wish to hold.
Vs. Seeker
Go to the blue-haired NPC in the Vermillion City Pokemon Center, and she will give you the Vs. Seeker: a Key Item that you can activate and make nearby Trainers in your view, who you’ve beaten before, want to battle you again.
That means you not only defeat same Trainers multiple times for extra Poké Dollars, but it’s also a nice handy way to grind for leveling up some of your Pokemon, as well. Pair this with the Amulet Coin, and you’ll come away with thousands of extra Poké Dollars after just defeating a few Trainers at a time.
Selling Other Valuables
Along with the Nuggets you can get from the Nugget Bridge Glitch, FireRed and LeafGreen’s campaign will also see you find more sellable Nuggets along with other valuables — like Big Pearls (worth 5,000 Poké Dollars), Stardust (worth 1,500), Pearls (1,000 each), and Big Mushrooms (2,500 each).
If you find any of these and are short on cash, take these to a Poke Mart right away and top your funds up.
