Heartopia is free to play, and has three types of currency. Gold is the main money used in game for purchasing clothing, furniture, and in game materials. There are also wishing stars that can be earned in game & used to trade for exhibition passes to unlock items on limited and seasonal banners. Then there are moonlight crystals and heart diamonds, which is the paid currency.

Freebies and Codes
You can earn some of the paid currency for free via redeem codes. So before you do anything, get those freebies! Heartopia has been dropping codes daily since launch, so check out our page for the latest Heartopia codes.
Also, make sure you go to your discovery tab because if you follow all their official channels or even just click the link, it will give you rewards.
Don’t forget to check your mailbox, too, because they do release dev surveys & server maintenance rewards which will also give you in-game currency and gold. The latest maintenance reward was 20,000 gold and five wishing stars. So, it is absolutely worth checking your mail often!
How to Earn Gold Fast
Now let’s talk about gold. There are shops in the town square for clothing and furniture that rotate daily which use gold, in addition to a Time Limited Festival that has exclusive items, but for a much higher price than the stores in town. You also use gold to expand your home plot as you progress in the game, but be warned, it gets pricier as you level up! My latest plot was up to 60,000 gold! So you want to make sure to stack up quickly so you don’t miss out on any of that content.
Foraging
The forests are always full of mushrooms, including truffles located here on the map. Truffles are the most expensive mushroom in the game! They respawn every 13 minutes and do not require tools to forage, so are an excellent money maker.
Foraging on days with rainbow weather gives an extra boost called a rainbow blessing, which means you can collect more when foraging, reel in higher star fish and cook higher quality food.
Crafting and Selling Furniture
Every day, a fluorite crystal will appear next to a player’s home, in addition to a wandering Oak tree that gives you roaming wood when you hit it with your axe. You can only harvest these once every 24 hours, and they both respawn in front of a new player’s lot everyday.
Next, you want to find these giant trees on the map. Whenever you hit these behemoths, you will not only get quality timber, but a chance for rare timber drops, which is one of the most expensive materials in game. Rare furniture made from these materials will sell for a small fortune.
Remember to use your fluorite and wandering timber sparingly, since you can only harvest it once per day, and in limited quantities.
Cooking and Selling Food
The fastest way to earn gold early game is the cooking hobby. You can forage ingredients for free such as blueberries, apples and oranges found on trees and bushes in front of player homes, and use your stove to cook various forms of jam.
Don’t be afraid to combine new ingredients to unlock new cooking recipes such as different jam flavors. Using 4 tomatoes in the jam recipe, for example, unlocks tomato sauce! So don’t be afraid to experiment!
The best recipes early on are:
- Basic jams
- Fish and chips, which you can purchase at cooking level 1
- Truffle pie, which you unlock by using only truffles as the ingredients in the mushroom pie recipe
Then at cooking level 3, you can purchase the recipe for truffle pasta from Massimo, located here on the map.
Check Massimo’s store regularly for daily sales on ingredients and stock up when they are cheap. Massimo does not sell wheat, potatoes or fish used in these recipes; you will have to fish and garden to obtain those.
In order to maximize profit, I recommend using multiple stoves, but be careful not to burn anything! If you use only a single oven it can take up to 5 minutes to make 15 dishes, so I highly recommend you have multiple and become basically a cooking machine. If you have friends over, they can click on the stoves for you to help out, but make sure you are the one clicking to start the dish, or it will go to their inventory.
Recipes like jam and lattes (made from adding milk to the regular coffee recipe)are great for leveling up your cooking skill quickly to unlock those higher profit dishes. And don’t forget to regularly check your collection tabs, because you will get rewarded gold for unlocking new dishes and cooking them.
Now, you want to go to your map and look for Albert Jr. He’s an NPC from the Gilded Acorn Merchant’s Guild that you can sell your miscellaneous items to. You’ll recognize him by his yellow jumpsuit and bucket hat. Here you can sell all the food you cooked, and remember that higher quality dishes (dishes with more stars) will sell for more gold.
Fishing Event
As you progress through the main quest, you will unlock something called an event. This is one of my favorite multiplayer features in the game because you can invite other players on your friends list or in the server to join you. These events are extremely lucrative.
During the fishing event, aim your line for the gold fish whenever possible. They will be a little bit harder to reel in, but will give you a high quality or extremely rare fish every time. I had never even seen an angler fish until I went on one of these fishing boats.
During these events, bonus shoals will appear: if you cast your fishing line, it will automatically reel the fish in. Since these events are on a timer less than 4 minutes for each round, you really want to make sure that you are casting nonstop during a bonus shoal.
This is by far the fastest way to collect high quality and valuable fish, in addition to being really good for your collection tab rewards.
My number one tip for this is to always go with multiple other players, because you can take turns purchasing a fishing event. The first time you start an event on either Fishing Boat, it will cost $2000, after that $3000, then $5000.
At the event’s end, you get to claim additional rewards such as Galaxy Eggs. And if you are the fastest angler, you also get a bonus as well.
Bug Catching Event
The second big money-making event is called Bait the Insects. You unlock this quest through Eric.
After speaking to Eric, run up to the bug statue. This is how you turn on the insect catching device, which will start the event. For this event, you’re going to need to stock up on repair kits because you have to repair your wand after nearly every round.
This is a really great activity for collecting new species of bugs and finding rare and higher star varieties.
At certain points, insect swarm outbreaks will appear. So, you need to go to the area that they’re telling you to during the event, and it will be littered with bugs. There are personal goals that you see on the side of each event. You will get additional rewards for completing these quests such as “catch 10 insects”, and group goals such as “catch 50 insects together”. So I recommend going with a group of 3-4 people for each event for the best shot at gaining event bonuses. You can sell all of the bugs for profit since they aren’t used for crafting or cooking.
Collecting and Selling Fireworks
One of the highest profit items in the game that you can collect is fireworks, which are given to you as free rewards in galaxy eggs earned from events, and also as a general questing reward.
There is currently a limited pink gacha machine that uses coins earned for free by doing daily tasks in game. The gacha machine rewards multiple types of fireworks in addition to free furniture.
You can also purchase additional single fireworks for 1 wishing star or a larger fireworks for 3 wishing stars from vendor Ka’Ching.
Fair warning, use your wishing stars sparingly, because those are used for many in game customizations and don’t renew! You have been warned!
Selling those fireworks to Albert Jr is a really easy and quick way to earn thousands.
Completing Puzzles
Ka’ching also sells puzzles that refresh daily, and completing those puzzles then selling them will earn you over 3 thousand per puzzle.
Gardening
Go visit Blanc, who is the gardening mentor, aka who you will buy all of your farming supplies from.
If you’re early game, you won’t have a whole lot of plots. So it’s very important that you organize your garden effectively. Every crop grows at a different pace, so I recommend setting a timer on your phone to harvest & replant as efficiently as possible.
Tomato seeds grow the fastest and are great for levelling up your gardening skill fast, but be sure to keep a steady supply of potatoes and wheat growing at all times for the high value recipes like truffle pasta and fish and chips.
Plant fast growing crops when you are actively online that you can harvest repeatedly while playing, and plant the slow growing crops before logging off, so they will be ready to go when you log back into your game next. And the best part is as you up your farming level, your gardening proficiency will go up and you will have a chance to get bountiful crops which are worth far more money. So, I know gardening is the slowest and the most grindy way to make money, but it works!
Pet Gifts
Lastly, don’t forget to check up on your furry friends often, because as you level up your dog & cat caring skills, you will unlock pet gifts! If you see a present icon above your pet’s head, click it for free rewards. Here you can see my cat gifting me 2000 gold, but I have received 3000 from my dog prior, and the gifts will get better as you level up.
