In Crimson Desert, you can passively earn income through a robust investment system at the Bank. Unlike real life, you can manipulate your investment returns, as long as you don’t mind a bit of save scumming. This guide explains all the details on how the investment system works, so you can start earning the big bucks.
Bank Location
In Hernand, you can find a Bank at the north side of town. If you talk to the banker, you find out that you can purchase a Personal Strongbox Permit for 100 Silver, and buy Gold Bars for 500 Silver.
This will introduce you to the investment mechanic of Crimson Desert, which can passively earn you income throughout your playthrough. If you can make it to 600 Silver, you can then purchase both the Strongbox Permit and Gold Bar, and make a start on your investment journey.
How to Invest in the Bank in Crimson Desert
There are three “investment strategies” you can subscribe to, ranging from low risk to high risk.
Writer Logan’s Tip: I personally recommend selecting the high risk type first, as it’s possible to completely mitigate any risks involved.
When interacting with the bank screen, keep an eye on the “next refresh time” as that’s when you will be paid out your dividends. Your goal is to make a save JUST BEFORE that time. Once the timer counts down, you will notice that the text changes to “refreshing” for about a minute before you see the results of your investment.
You can select “Previous Investments” to better see how much money you either gained or lost. If you lost money, you will notice your Gold Bar is gone from the bank, and you were refunded whatever Silver was left over.
Luckily, you won’t have to worry about that too much as long as you are willing to load your save. Your payouts aren’t predetermined and will change every time you load your previous save, so keep reloading until you’re happy.
Your dividends or losses will stay in the bank, so it’s a good idea to check back before the three day refresh. If you are worried that you will forget, as it is easy to lose track of time in Crimson Desert, it’s not a bad idea to pick a safer investment strategy. In the mean-time, make sure you withdraw the silver you need to make purchases.
Something to note as you are waiting for your payout, each in-game hour equals five real time minutes. To make time pass faster, you can sleep at a bed, or rest near a bonfire for 12 hours. Between each rest, you need to wait at least 10 in game hours, or about 50 minutes real time.
