Fitbit Presents AI-Based Personal Health Coach, Starting October 2025

JAKARTA – Google introduced a new artificial intelligence (AI) health trainer built with Gemini, for Fitbit devices, which will be available in October 2025, in preview via the Fitbit Premium service.

Fitbit’s new feature is designed as a fitness trainer, sleeping coach, as well as a personalized health advisor according to the data of each user.

“This coach continues to adjust based on your personal health and fitness metrics, and is uniquely adapted to the real goals and conditions of your life,” Google wrote in its announcement.

Some of these updates include:

Data-Based Personal Exercise

The AI coach has compiled a personalized exercise plan by considering the objectives, preferences, and sports equipment of the user.

The plan will continue to be updated in real-time based on daily health data. If the user experiences a certain sleep disorder or body condition, the system will adjust the intensity of the exercise automatically.

New Sleep Algorithm

In addition to fitness, this feature also brings a sleep coach with advanced algorithms. The coach will provide input to improve sleep patterns, including adjusting the sleep schedule according to daily activity levels.

Complete Health Insights

This feature can be connected to various devices and platforms, including Health Connect and HealthKit, so they can read additional data such as weight from smart scales to glucose levels. Users can ask direct questions, ranging from options between exercise or additional sleep, how to deal with stress, to recommendations for exercise to lose weight.

To ensure its reliability, Fitbit collaborated with NBA athlete Stephen Curry with his performance team, as well as a Consumer Health Advisory Panel consisting of health experts, AI, and behavioral science.

Fitbit also continues research in the development of the Personal Health Large Language Model, the results of which are published in the journal Nature Medicine

These updates, including a redesigned app, will be available to users of the latest Fitbit tracker, Fitbit smartwatch, and Pixel Watch.
