Family Fun Dog Show to support Taggart family

A FAMILY Fun Dog Show will take place at Necarne Estate, Irvinestown, on Sunday, August 30, with organisers hoping the community will come together to support William and Cara Taggart following the devastating road traffic collision that changed their lives.

The event will begin at 2pm and promises an enjoyable afternoon for families, dog owners and animal lovers alike.

If weather conditions are unsuitable, the show will move indoors, ensuring the fundraiser goes ahead regardless of the forecast.

Organisers say they are delighted to host the event and are encouraging people from across Fermanagh and beyond to attend, with all proceeds going towards the ongoing fundraising campaign for the Taggart family.

The fundraiser follows an overwhelming response from the public after a GoFundMe appeal raised just under £100,000 within days of launching, bringing the campaign close to its £120,000 target.

William Taggart and his eight-year-old daughter, Cara, suffered life-changing injuries after the quad bike they were travelling on was involved in a collision with a van.

Following the incident, William underwent an amputation of his foot, while Cara tragically lost a leg.

A man accused of driving the van has since been charged in connection with the collision and is due to appear before the courts.

The Family Fun Dog Show aims to build on the remarkable community support already shown to the family, while offering a fun-filled afternoon for visitors of all ages.

Organisers hope the event will not only raise additional funds but also demonstrate the continued solidarity and generosity of local communities during the Taggarts’ recovery journey.
