Dog Looks Personally Offended by His Owner’s Late-Night Plans In Funny Video

Staying up past 11 p.m. was apparently enough to make Coop question the evening’s entire schedule. His owner is watching TV in the living room when she notices her German Shorthaired Pointer sitting beside her with his front paws crossed and his back against the cushions.

@nissa_maria starts filming, and Coop gives the camera and mom a sideways look. Mom asks if he is okay, and he looks directly at her, tilting his head slightly as if the question should really be going the other way. For this dog, a late night seems to be a complete no-no.

Dog makes his feelings clear when bedtime gets pushed too late

Coop’s owner explains the situation in the caption: “I wanted to stay up past 11pm last night. Coop did not approve.” And Coop certainly looks like he has been waiting for someone to address the issue. He sits upright against the couch cushions, paws crossed neatly in front of him. According to his owner, this is how he usually sits when he has to make a point, which makes the timing of the video even funnier.

At first, Coop looks away while mom points the camera toward him. Then he notices exactly what she is doing and turns his head for a very pointed side-eye. “Are you okay?” Mom asks. Coop looks straight at her. There is a tiny head tilt, followed by a stare that seems to suggest he has several questions of his own.

Nothing dramatic happens. He just keeps sitting there, looking directly at her, while his mom continues filming. The 51,000-plus likes on the video come with plenty of people who seem to understand exactly what Coop is trying to communicate.

And the viewers are entertained. One person imagined him saying, “I beg your disrespectful pardon,” while another wrote, “He said ‘Are You?!'” Someone called him a “distinguished gentleman,” and another joked that there must be a human hiding underneath all that fur. One comment gave Coop “300 years of dog wisdom.”

The funny part is how little Coop actually does. He does not bark or fuss. He just sits there with those crossed paws and lets his face do all the talking.
