Campaign’s Creative Faces to Watch 2026 – Mai Al Khouri, Copywriter, Creativity At Scale (CATS)
Age: 28
Country: Jordan
Nominated by Nadim Dimechkie, Senior Creative Director:
Since joining last February, Mai has brought brilliant, fresh creative ideas to every brief lucky enough to have her. She has a sharp, playful mind; a strong intellect; and excellent copywriting skills, which we’ve seen across a range of platforms, open briefs, content strategies and decks.
Career highlights
My advertising journey started with a curiosity: a 2019 internship at Leo Academy that cracked open the world of advertising and never quite let go. Since then, I’ve moved across communications, journalism, and academia, all roads leading back to words and, eventually, back to Publicis.
As a copywriter, my experience spans social media, SEO, PR, and plenty in between, both in-house and agency-side, across financial services, SaaS, F&B, and beyond, covering GCC and US markets. Since joining CATs, I’ve worked on regional and global brands, including McDonald’s, Nespresso, FAB, and Lay’s.
I believe the range I’ve developed across my career has become my defining edge, and I’m ready to take it to the next level.
Guiding principles
My three constants: clarity, curiosity, and a refusal to let the work become a formula. Besides this and a multidisciplinary approach to the work, I also think it’s important we keep thinking abstractly to help ignite creative work. For example, ask people if they’re a soup, salad, or sandwich. It’s questions like these that help us understand people from the irrational to the rational parts of us all.
Side hustle
Outside of work, I’m deep in anime, music, and media that blur the line between imagination and reality. I break down the status quo – starting with myself – and see how that feeds back into the work. Basically, I approach life with a sense of play and take notes accordingly.
