Allplan launches 2026 releases with new AI and BIM tools

Allplan 2026 enhances automation, collaboration and sustainability for architects, engineers and construction professionals.

Driving productivity, accuracy, and collaboration from Design to Build

ALLPLAN, a global provider of BIM solutions for the AEC industry and part of the Nemetschek Group, has announced the launch of its 2026 product releases. The updates introduce new features aimed at improving productivity, accuracy and sustainability across project workflows. Designed for architects, engineers, detailers, fabricators and construction professionals, the releases emphasize modernization, automation, and integration to support collaboration from design to construction.

Earlier, more sustainable, collaborative data-based decisions

ALLPLAN 2026 strengthens its commitment to sustainable design through integration with Preoptima CONCEPT. This seamless workflow enables architects and engineers to export conceptual mass models directly from ALLPLAN for early-stage carbon assessment—well before a detailed BIM model is required. In addition to embodied carbon, users can assess operational and whole life cycle carbon, evaluate and compare different design variants to make informed and holistic decisions from the very start.

With the introduction of GeoPackage DataExchange, urban planners and designers can now integrate GIS data seamlessly across all EU countries and beyond, ensuring access to accurate site context, supporting better decisions on zoning, infrastructure, and environmental impacts.

A new AI Assistant, available through the Connect platform, extends planning efficiency and improves upfront decision making by providing guidance on ALLPLAN workflows, AEC standards and best practices, while offering smart suggestions for tasks ranging from construction standards to coding support. Available 24/7 in multiple languages, the AI Assistant ensures continuous, expert-level support throughout the project lifecycle.

ALLPLAN Model Viewer, a new free tool, brings instant browser-based IFC visualization to all project stakeholders, whilst an improved XRef Manager delivers a unified overview and simplifies data management. Cloud Reference – a new IFC XRef type allows direct insertion of IFC files into ALLPLAN via BIMPLUS, enhancing information sharing within a common data environment.

ALLPLAN 2026 offers support for IDS-based attribute import, ensuring BIM models include all the necessary data for compliance, together with enhanced IFC4 import capabilities for smoother data exchange. New interfaces in BIMPLUS for collaboration include IFC4.3 import and extended export capabilities for GLB format for better visualization. An extension to the ALLPLAN Bluebeam connection enables users to easily bring documents from the Bluebeam Studio Project environment into their ALLPLAN workflows.

Building and infrastructure design

ALLPLAN 2026 introduces powerful enhancements for architects to design freeform staircases with greater efficiency. New multilayer support for slabs makes it easier to model complex assemblies such as foundation and terrain layers, with intuitive previews and precise control for faster, error-free execution planning.

At the same time, BIM-compliant room and finish detailing have been significantly improved with multi-layered finishes, rule-based distribution, advanced filtering, and flexible layer management. With custom component priority-based connections, designers can now model complex shapes more accurately while automated interactions reduce manual effort and minimize errors. These features simplify the creation of precise 2D and 3D representations, reduce errors, and accelerate updates—delivering consistent, detailed results from early design through to sustainable, ready-to-build execution.

For infrastructure design, ALLPLAN 2026 introduces several advancements to accelerate workflows and improve accuracy. A new parametric tunnel modeling approach integrates alignment, cross-section definitions, and construction methodology, providing engineers and detailers with precise and efficient modeling capabilities, while significantly improving performance. Advanced 3D layer management sets new standards for efficiency and reliability in complex civil projects, and a newly unified next-generation Digital Terrain Modeler enables accurate and detailed terrain workflows. Parametric road intersection modeling is expanded to enable more realistic intersection models, with reduced manual rework.

Structural analysis and design

Importing Structural Analysis Format (SAF) files is much easier with a direct import into BIMPLUS, instantly generating a 3D analytical model for visualization and interrogation. Users can also now seamlessly transfer their 3D models to the BIM-Connector making it easier than ever to work across ALLPLAN solutions.

ALLPLAN’s latest solutions for 3D structural analysis and design include a new mobile loads functionality enabling engineers to quickly and automatically identify and analyze scenarios, whilst new footfall analysis supports evaluation of how structures respond to human-induced vibrations. Newly amalgamated modules for component-based analysis and design include an expanded unified foundations module and ensure that structural engineers can now access and benefit from simplified yet comprehensive design solutions from ALLPLAN.

Reinforcement detailing

For structural reinforcement detailing, ALLPLAN 2026 delivers enhanced automation of column reinforcement design, making it easier, faster, and more reliable to transfer reinforcement layouts from analysis and design. Automated wall reinforcement workflows are further enhanced through single-click horizontal or vertical reinforcement priorities and toggling reinforcement types on or off, for more intuitive and frustration-free automation.

There is also enhanced precision for complex circular and spiral structures through updated circular reinforcement capabilities and a new reinforcement to field workflow, empowering digital-first construction. Detailers and rebar fabricators can now place reinforcement directly in isometric views, benefit from improved attribute management, and effectively handle reinforcement collisions in a fully digital drawing-less process.

Prefabrication and construction

By integrating design and fabrication within a single workflow, ALLPLAN 2026 helps precast fabricators produce consistent outputs while reducing manual effort and errors. Rule-based dimensioning automatically generates production drawings with dimensions based on defined rules and standards. Automated dimensioning for local views maintains accuracy and consistency during design changes, and customizable quantity takeoff allows users to export Bills of Materials with the required data for ERP systems or clients.

For steel detailers and fabricators, ALLPLAN’s dedicated structural steel solution for 2026 includes new functionality for creating custom profiles, enabling users to handle specialty detailing and added intelligence for custom connections through constructability checks. Design and detailing possibilities are expanded with support for new material types, enabling users to take on miscellaneous metals and architectural components with confidence.

ALLPLAN 2026 introduces updates to groundworks that improve construction model management, reduce errors, and support accurate data transfer to construction teams.
