Singapore — Pinterest has partnered with Shopee to launch affiliate commerce in Indonesia, enabling eligible Shopee Affiliate creators to connect their accounts with Pinterest and share Shopee product recommendations through Pins and videos.
The partnership gives Indonesian creators another way to reach shoppers and potentially earn affiliate commissions, while helping consumers move from product discovery on Pinterest to purchase on Shopee.
The launch marks Pinterest’s entry into affiliate commerce in Indonesia, connecting its visual discovery experience with Shopee’s existing Affiliate Program. For Shopee, the partnership brings its products into another platform where consumers explore ideas, discover products and decide what to buy.
On Pinterest, shopping often starts with an idea, whether users are looking for what to wear, products for their homes or something new to try. Users can search visually, explore options and narrow down products based on their interests and needs.
Gen Z is an important part of this behaviour, with the generation accounting for more than 50% of Pinterest’s global user base. Pinterest’s search data also shows growing interest among Gen Z users in Indonesia, particularly around beauty products. Searches for “produk kecantikan” increased 83% year-on-year between January and June 2026.
Through the partnership, eligible Shopee Affiliate creators can discover and select eligible Shopee products to recommend within Pinterest. They can also tag multiple Shopee Affiliate products in a single Pin or video, with eligible products able to have relevant affiliate links applied automatically.

Creators can use the feature to bring related products together in one piece of content, such as a complete look, product collection or themed recommendation. When Pinterest users make eligible purchases on Shopee, creators can earn commissions subject to the applicable programme terms.
The collaboration is designed to connect the different stages of the shopping journey, with Pinterest supporting discovery, creators providing product recommendations and Shopee providing the platform for consumers to complete their purchases.
“Commerce does not begin only at the point of purchase. It starts when people discover an idea, explore their options, and decide what fits their needs,” said Peggy Zhu, Executive Director, Brand and Growth Marketing, Shopee.
“At Shopee, we see creator-commerce as part of this broader journey, connecting creators and businesses with shoppers through content and technology. Our work with Pinterest reflects this approach by linking visual discovery with Shopee’s commerce ecosystem,” added Zhu.
For Pinterest, the partnership also builds on its wider focus on creator commerce, as creators increasingly help audiences navigate product discovery and purchasing decisions.
The partnership extends to Brazil, where it expands Pinterest’s existing creator-commerce partnerships, coinciding with a 281% year-on-year rise in searches for “inspiration for outfits” among local users showing growing interest in shopping-related queries.
“As a home & living creator, I see Pinterest not just as a space for finding decor or DIY ideas, but as a destination where people arrive with a clear intent to find practical solutions. Having been a Shopee Affiliate since early 2022, my goal has always been to share recommendations that offer real value,” said Nayla Zukhrufa, Creator, Indonesia.
“Connecting Shopee with Pinterest bridges two powerful strengths – inspiration discovery and seamless shopping. It makes the journey from idea to purchase entirely frictionless for audiences while opening up greater monetisation opportunities for creators in Indonesia,” added Zukhrufa.
“When I share an outfit or a makeup look, I like to highlight every product and piece because they work well together. With this partnership, I can feature my full look, everything I used for my makeup or skincare routine, and give my audience the option to choose individual items or the complete set I recommend. It’s a more seamless and interactive way to find products on Shopee while getting inspired on Pinterest,” said Patrícia Cella, Creator, Brazil.
By connecting these discovery behaviours with Shopee’s affiliate ecosystem, the companies aim to make the path from inspiration to purchase more seamless for both creators and shoppers.
The collaboration also reflects Shopee’s wider focus on creator commerce, using content and technology to connect creators and businesses with consumers throughout the shopping journey.
