Meet Rhino and Queenie, this week’s CVAS pets of the week. These are just two of the amazing animals residing at area animal shelters.
Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter has lots of adorable pets who are looking for forever homes. While Rhino and Queenie would like to meet you, check out all the other adorable animals available for adoption also. Go to this Animal Shelter link to see all their residents.
CVAS encourages anyone interested in bringing a four-legged friend into their home to check out the wonderful animals available for adoptions at the shelter.
Pets find themselves homeless for a wide variety of reasons, in need of a new home and a second chance. So if you are looking for a new furry best friend, check out the shelter’s many residents. Any of them would make a great pet and wonderful companion.
Adoptions now take place by appointment only, and that has worked very well. Donors have also helped with supplies and money, something very necessary to provide for the shelter’s homeless animals.
Potential adopters can call 717-263-5791 For more information.
Rhino

Rhino was surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. He is a 1-year-old terrier mix who is a strong boy. He loves going for walks and playing in the yard. Rhino loves people, but can be dog selective and would do best in a home without other dogs. He also does not do well with cats so a home without cats would also be best for him. Rhino did live with children 10 years old and up and did well with them, however he may be too much for younger children. Do you have the right place for this sweet boy? CVAS, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, Kennel License# 2090
Queenie

Queenie was surrendered to the shelter when her owner had too many cats to care for. She is a 5-year-old brown tabby who may do well as the only cat in the home. She loves sleeping in her cubby – as you can see from the picture – and can’t wait to find her forever home.
