Town of Georgetown Warn of Email Fraud Scam Alert – WGMD


Georgetown officials are warning of am email scam. Town officials warn that fraudulent emails are being sent using the identity of town employees. The emails are on reproduced official Georgetown letterhead and recipients are asked to send payments by wire transfer. The scam is designed to make businesses believe they are paying for legitimate town services. Georgetown officials say the Town does not and will not request or accept payment of any kind through wire transfer.
