Toddler Asks Dog To Be Careful but Falls Herself in Hilarious Video

There is something incredibly pure about the way children talk to their pets. In a recently viral video, two-year-old Olivia takes her role as a dog walker very seriously. Clad in a tiny microphone, she spends her family hike supervising her golden retriever, Lady. Olivia acts like a tiny trail guide, offering constant safety advice and snacks. It is a beautiful look at a child’s empathy, but as any parent knows, toddlers and gravity don’t always get along.

Toddler asks dog to go slow but ends up falling herself in funny video

The Instagram video starts with Olivia being the ultimate “big sister” to her dog, Lady. She is heard whispering sweet instructions into her microphone. “Go sloooow,” she tells the dog as they navigate a tricky, dirt-covered slope.

Olivia is genuinely concerned for Lady’s safety. She warns the dog to “watch your step” and “be careful” while Lady casually trots along, clearly more experienced on the terrain than her human.

Ironically, the advice was better suited for Olivia. While she is busy making sure Lady doesn’t trip, the toddler loses her own footing. In a classic “blink and you’ll miss it” moment, Olivia’s boots slide on the loose leaves. She takes a gentle tumble right onto her bottom. It is a hilarious contrast to her previous bossy, protective tone.

Even after her little spill, Olivia doesn’t lose her spirit. The toddler gets right back up to continue her mission. She wipes Lady’s nose when it gets dirty and shares her observation that the forest smells like Christmas trees.

She even admits she isn’t scared of wolves because Lady is there to protect her. The fall was just a tiny bump in a day filled with treats, hugs, and a very clear message: Lady is officially her favorite family member.
