Dog-friendly fun at ‘Hops and Hounds’ event in Whitestown

WHITESTOWN, Ind. (WISH) — Dog lovers and pets alike can enjoy an evening of “brews, barks, and local bites” at “Hops and Hounds” on Thursday.

The free event at Gateway Park will have activities for dogs, including K-9 Cardio Fitness (for pups 6 months and older), an off-leash agility course, and “Your Pooch Paints” kits from Livelovepaint Studio LLC for $10 per painting.

The Whitestown Parks tent, at the entrance of the event, will have free “pup cups.”

Owners can enjoy adult beverages, dine at local food trucks on site, or shop from local businesses and pet-related vendors. There will also be live K-9 demonstrations by the Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department.

“Our goal with ‘Hops and Hounds’ is to create a safe, welcoming environment where dog lovers can gather and have fun,” Assistant Town Manager and Parks Director Dominic Cornett said in a statement.

For anyone looking to bring home a new four-legged friend, The Humane Society of Boone County will have rescue dogs available for adoption.

All dogs must be leashed throughout the entire event unless they are in the agility course section.
