The City of Mansfield unveils a $2.5 billion project featuring a stadium, hotels, and amusement facilities, set to complete by 2027.
MANSFIELD, Texas — The City of Mansfield released new information on a sweeping $2.5 billion development project for entertainment, sports, and family recreation.
Plans for the Staybolt Street Entertainment District were first announced in 2024, but the city recently revealed the complex will feature a professional multi-sport stadium, hotels, a conference center, a family-friendly amusement complex, retail, dining and housing.
At the heart of the project is a 7,500-seat stadium that will serve as the new home of the North Texas Soccer Club, the reigning 2024 MLS NEXT Pro champions. Scheduled to open in 2026, the stadium is expected to host a variety of events year-round, including concerts, tournaments and rodeos. The venue will be owned by the city and operated by REV Entertainment and FDC Management, an affiliate of FC Dallas.
The development will also include High 5 Mansfield, a 45,000-square-foot entertainment venue with bowling, arcade games, mini golf and a rooftop concert space. It is expected to open in late 2025 and will be the city’s first major family-focused recreation facility.
Two hotels are planned for the district, including a 175-room property named Hotel Carbon aimed at athletes and sports fans. A second, independent 150-room hotel is also in development. Both are slated to open by winter 2027 alongside a new 22,000-square-foot conference center.
The project also includes a major overhaul of Mansfield’s existing youth sports complex. The former Big League Dreams facility will reopen as Mansfield Sports Park this summer, featuring upgraded fields, dining options, training facilities and a new Miracle League field for children with disabilities. The venue will span more than 40 acres and be managed in partnership with KemperSports and REV Entertainment.
City leaders say the district’s location along Toll Road 360 will provide easy access for out-of-town visitors while minimizing traffic on local streets. Upgrades to nearby roadways, including Lone Star Parkway and Heritage Parkway, are already underway to accommodate future growth.
Construction on various components of the Staybolt Street Entertainment District is set to roll out in phases through 2027.
