RTI-Nehalem Tel issued a customer alert today September 25,2026 about an email received by many customers that is a phishing email currently circulating that appears to be from Rural Telecom.
The email claims:
“Effective September 26, 2026, Rural Telecom will be implementing several updates…”
It then directs you to switch to a new customer portal or take other action.
THIS EMAIL IS NOT FROM RTI NEHALEM/RURAL TELECOM.
Please do NOT click any links, open attachments, or enter your username, password, or other personal information.
This is a phishing attempt designed to make the email appear as though it came from Rural Telecom.
If you receive this message:
Do not click any links
Do not provide your login or personal information
Do not open attachments
Delete the email or mark it as spam/phishing
