LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – Downtown Lansing is teaming up with Old Town and REO Town this Saturday to celebrate local businesses for Downtown Day. Shoppers can take part in a special shopping passport initiative featuring more than 40 participating local businesses across all three districts. Each purchase earns an initial on the passport, giving participants the opportunity to submit their completed form to win one of seven gift prizes.
Pet owners can also bring their four-legged companions out for “Paws on the Square,” a free dog-walking event kicking off at 11 a.m. outside Sylvia’s Sudsery.
Participants in the walk will receive a doggy goodie bag while supplies last, stroll down the square toward the Capitol for a meet-and-greet bingo, and enter an online best-dressed dog contest. Organizers hope the festivities encourage residents to explore new storefronts, connect with neighbors, and rally behind local shops ahead of the holiday season.
