The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare and Santa Rosa County Animal Services are partnering with the BISSELL Pet Foundation for its “Empty the Shelters” adoption event,
The event begins Friday, Sept. 18 and runs until Wednesday, Sept. 30.
The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare is offering free adoptions for dogs and cats one year or older. The adoption fee in Escambia County for pets younger than one year old will be $50 for puppies and $25 for kittens.
A $15 licensing fee will be applied to all adoptions for Escambia County residents. To see a full list of adoptable pets in Escambia County, click here.
Santa Rosa County Animal Services will offer reduced adoption fees of just $10 per cat or dog. View available animals online here.
All pets available through participating shelters are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
The Escambia County Animal Welfare and Adoption Center is located at 200 W. Fairfield Drive. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Santa Rosa County Animal Services is located at 4451 Pine Forest Road in Milton.
