There are several good ways to make money in Moonlight Peaks. Some of the best methods center around selling items that are found on beaches, crafted in Kegs, and collected in Bee Houses. Players who are trying to make easy money in Moonlight Peaks can learn more about those methods in this guide.

The Best Ways to Make Money in Moonlight Peaks
Sell Shells & Forage Items

At the very beginning of the game, focus on collecting the shells that are found on beaches and selling them to Chester. This activity costs no stamina, and shells sell for 10 to 30 coins each. There are three beaches you can access in the early game, and their locations are as follows:
- Farm: There’s a beach just southwest of your farm.
- Moonlit Pines: Go one screen to the right of your farm and follow the path northward to enter Moonlit Pines. There’s a beach just a bit to the north.
- Misty Shores: A beach runs along the south side of Misty Shores, the area beneath your farm. You’ll gain access to this area during the A Bridge Too Far quest in the early game.
You can also pick up flowers and other forage items from the areas between beaches, and those can be sold for a little extra money. However, some flowers don’t sell for very much, and you may instead want to give them to villagers, as they are a consistent way to raise relationship levels. You can also start stockpiling flowers in order to support a money-making strategy that becomes available a bit later.
Glowing Spots

As you explore, make sure to use your shovel to dig up any glowing spots that appear on the ground. Not only can these spots provide money directly, they can also award seeds, which you can grow into crops that you can sell. Additionally, there is a small chance that you will receive a Diamond when digging up a glowing spot, and those sell to Chester for 2,000 coins.
You’ll eventually unlock a job board in the main town, and you may encounter a job that requires you to hand over a Diamond. That job awards 10,000 coins, and it is therefore recommended that you keep at least one Diamond in storage and sell the rest.
Wines & Juices

The Orlock’s Wine Scheme quest you receive at the beginning of the game instructs you to create wine in a Keg, and it’s a not-so-subtle push towards one of the best money-making strategies. Indeed, you should focus on growing lots of grapes and other fruits, turning them into wines and juices in Kegs, selling those products to Chester, and repeating this process ad infinitum. You can buy fruit seeds from Luna’s Seed Stall in Moonlit Pines, and you should plan to have multiple kegs running simultaneously.
The crops you grow are of different qualities, which are indicated by stars on their icons, and the higher-quality products that come from processing higher-quality materials are more valuable. You should therefore make sure to avoid using high-quality materials to make low-quality products, and your processing stations will alert you if you are about to do so.
Bugs & Fish
As you clear out beaches, dig up glowing spots, and wait for your fruits to grow, you can catch bugs and fish with the intention of selling them. Those activities do require stamina, though, and you may not have much to spare if you’re working on clearing out your farm and collecting ores. Still, selling insects and fish is a reasonable option if you’re in desperate need of money, and you can learn more about collecting them in our How to Fish guide and How to Get a Net guide.
Other Crops
While fruits that can be processed in Kegs should be the focus of your early-game farming efforts, you should make sure to plant seeds you get from glowing spots and any other means. Once these seeds have grown, look for ways to process your harvest, as products sell for more than raw materials. At the beginning of the game, the Cooking Station in your house is the only additional option you’ll have, though you’ll eventually expand your processing opportunities with things like Herb Drying Racks, Jam Makers, and a Mill.
Side Jobs

As previously noted, you’ll gain access to a job board in town as you progress through the early hours of the game, and it’s a great way to make some easy money. Not only are there jobs that directly award money for delivering items to NPCs, many of them provide items simply for talking to a particular character. Those items can then be sold to Chester for easy money, and some of them can be quite valuable.
If there is a job on the board that you don’t feel like you can complete before the deadline, hold off on accepting it. Jobs often stay on the board for several days, giving you an opportunity to get started before you trigger the deadline countdown.
Barn
The Farm Animals for Sale quest requires you to buy a Barn from Ridge, and it’s a good early-game indication of just how important money is. Indeed, you need 4,000 coins to unlock the Barn, and that can be a tall order initially. However, it’s recommended that you prioritize saving for a Barn, as it provides some passive income.
I’d recommend at least upgrading your axe and pickaxe to copper variants before buying a Barn, as those upgrades are very important for progression. You can learn more about this process in our How to Upgrade Tools guide.
Once you have a Barn, visit Luna’s Farm in Moonlit Pines to get a Cheeken. This animal lays an Egg every day, and you should use your Cooking Station to turn them into Fried Eggs before selling them to Chester. Cheekens also have a chance to lay Golden Eggs, which sell for more than the standard variant, and they produce fertilizer that can be used to improve the quality of the crops you grow and the products that are made from them.
There is a side job that requires a Golden Egg. Make sure to keep at least one in your storage for when that job appears.
As your income increases, you can start filling your Barn with other animals. It’s recommended that you go for a diverse selection so that you can have access to the variety of materials, including milk and wool, that they produce. Those materials can then be processed in facilities like the Press and Loom and sold.
Bee Houses

You’ll receive a letter from Luna during your first spring called Busy Bees, and reading it awards the Bee House blueprint. These are even better sources of passive income than Barns, and they require even less maintenance.
More specifically, Bee Houses yield Honey every day, which sells for 20 coins each. By default, a Bee House provides one Honey per day, though you can increase the yield (up to a maximum of 16 Honey per day) by placing flowers in the surrounding area. Simply pick some flowers from the environment, select them from your inventory, choose Place, and put them next to a Bee House. You can then interact with the Bee House to see how much Honey it is producing, and then continue placing flowers until it reaches the 16-Honey maximum.
Notably, multiple Bee Houses can benefit from the same flowers. This means that you can place four Bee Houses in a square and then surround that square with flowers to get them all to the 16-Honey maximum with the minimum number of flowers. This configuration leads to 64 Honey per day, which provides a daily passive income of 1,280 coins and requires no further maintenance.
