Dyson releases AI-powered Airwrap Coriolis 2x with Gen2 motor and automated curling system

Dyson has a new way to curl your hair without doing any of the work yourself.

Dyson has released a new Airwrap that uses motion-sensing technology and artificial intelligence to automate the curling process while delivering increased power over previous models.

The Airwrap Coriolis 2x, priced at $749.99, is designed to dry and style hair simultaneously. It features the Dyson Gen2 motor that generates 30% more power and twice the air pressure of earlier versions, according to product specifications, all while operating at 1,700 watts and weighing less than one pound.

The Airwrap Coriolis 2x is available in ceramic pink and rose gold, with a presentation case.

More muscle, same featherweight

The new multi-styler’s intelligent curl sequence uses an integrated accelerometer to detect movement and automatically wrap hair around the barrel. The system adjusts heat and airflow timing based on individual hair types. Users can connect the device to the MyDyson app via Bluetooth to answer questions about their hair type and length, which generates a customized styling sequence.

Six attachments

The Airwrap Coriolis 2x has six attachments included with the device containing radio frequency identification chips that communicate with the base unit. The attachments automatically adjust to preferred heat and airflow settings once connected. The package includes a tapered conical barrel for root-to-tip curling, an air straightener with aerothermal plates and a large round volumizing brush.

A thousand temperature checks per second

To protect against heat damage, the Airwrap Coriolis 2x system monitors air temperature more than 1,000 times per second. Company surveys with external participants found that 97 percent of users considered the volumizing brush gentle on their scalp, while 87 percent said their hair maintained natural movement after using the straightening attachment.

What early customers are saying

Verified purchasers reported the enhanced airflow enables faster styling of waist-length hair compared to previous models.

My hair dries extremely fast, and it even remembers my preferences with each and every attachment. This is a powerful blow dryer, I’m so excited to style my hair all the time,” one reviewer said.

“I’m honestly so impressed with the new Dyson Airwrap Co-anda2x multi-styler and dryer. I love how easy it makes styling my hair from wet to a finished look with just one tool. The new attachments are amazing, I can create my favorite bouncy blowout, smooth my hair, or switch to a sleek straight style whenever I want. I also love using the MyDyson app with i.d. curl because it makes the curling process feel so much easier and personalized,” a second reviewer chimed in.
