How to make money fast in AC Black Flag Resynced
There are a few different methods of getting your hands on money in Black Flag Resynced, and fortunately, there’s no doubt something that caters to your preferred way of playing. Enjoy exploration? Embark on some treasure hunts. Enjoy naval combat? Take part in sea battles and steal your enemy’s wares. Prefer sitting back and relaxing? Let Kenway’s Fleet do the work for you.
Below, I’ve detailed multiple money-making methods and how to line your pockets with Reales using them:

Find and loot Treasure Chests
One way of acquiring money and other resources is by opening the dozens of Treasure Chests found across the map in Black Flag Resynced. These are scattered throughout each area and are often barely hidden, sitting in the corners of canopies and pergolas, inside the bedrooms of inhabitants, around the exterior of Warehouses, and more. Simply put, they’re everywhere, and you can quickly bag thousands of Reales by spending some time finding and opening them.
If you hover over a location on your map, you’ll see a list of all collectibles that can be found there, including Chests and Secrets. Some of these Secrets include hidden Chests or Buried Chests too, so even when you’ve cleared out all of the Chests in a location, there may still be treasure awaiting you in that area; keep your eyes (and Eagle Vision) peeled for them.
Treasure Maps will also aid with your hunt, and these are marked on the map after you synchronize a viewpoint in an area. By collecting them, you’ll be given the coordinates of a Buried Chest you can track down on your map and open, and these will often reward you with Reales, as well as other useful items and upgrades.
Now, what should you do when your cache of chests runs dry? Fortunately, there are some more methods for making money…

Sink and board enemy ships
Perhaps one of the most obvious ways of making money as a pirate in Black Flag Resynced is by sinking and boarding enemy ships while at sea. By doing this, you’ll quickly line your pockets with money, resources for crafting and upgrades, and Trade Goods such as Rum and Sugar.
It’s also worth noting that you’ll reap a lot more rewards from boarding ships than you do by simply destroying them, so it’s worth the extra effort of taking on a ship’s crew. That said, smaller ships that are part of fleets are probably worth neglecting; focus on boarding the biggest ship of a fleet if you’re fighting multiple ships at once. Lastly, don’t forget to use the Spyglass to mark a ship you’re considering fighting; this also details exactly what that ship is holding and thus, what rewards you’ll get for it.
As for any Trade Goods claimed from a sea battle, these serve no purpose other than being sold, so make sure to remember to visit a Harbourmaster or other vendor at any major settlement to sell off your loot.

Upgrade the Hideout Manor
Early on during Black Flag Resynced’s main quest, you’ll arrive at and take over the Great Inagua, and here, you’ll have a Hideout Manor as well as a bustling (albeit rundown) town to go about upgrading. Now, these upgrades – be it to the amenities around the island or the Hideout Manor itself – can be costly, but they are worthwhile as you’ll ultimately be able to recoup the costs.
The first upgrade you should prioritise for the Hideout Manor itself is the Facade, which unlocks the Protection Money Box. This allows you to receive money from Great Inagua’s inhabitants in exchange for their protection, and is a way to acquire passive income while you go out exploring and questing.
Now, the amount of money you get from the Protection Money Box depends on just how much effort you put into restoring Great Inagua. For example, going about building the Treasure Dealer or Fisherman’s Wharf amenities will allow you to receive more Protection Money.
That said, the box will eventually fill up while you’re away, especially if you’re not coming back to empty it regularly, but by upgrading the Manor further (which you can do by adding the Tower and Garden, and so forth), the Box itself will be able to hold more money so that you need not return to and check the Box as often.

Make use of Kenway’s Fleet
Kenway’s Fleet, which you can also access in the Hideout Manor, allows you to send any enemy ships you’ve captured out on missions. This allows you to passively gain income, resources, and trade goods without needing to lift a finger; you instead just need to hope the ship you’ve sent on the mission comes home unscathed.
To make the most of these missions, you will need to capture ships (to send on the missions) and forts, which opens up the surrounding area and missions within it for you to embark on, as long as you’ve an appropriate ship for the job. This is well worth doing whenever you return to the Hideout Manor – alongside checking the Money Protection Box – as you’ll soon be able to make quite the profit from doing so.
Ultimately, one of the best ways of making money is boarding ships, spending this money on upgrading the Hideout Manor, then sending ships on missions as part of Kenway’s Fleet. All of these go hand in hand with one another; as you board more enemy ships and upgrade the Hideout Manor, you’ll have more ships and berths available to you as part of Kenway’s Fleet. With all that money, you can upgrade the Hideout Manor further to reap additional rewards from your Money Protection Box, add new berths so you can go on more missions, and rinse and repeat.
