DOG lovers from across the Causeway Coast are being invited to enjoy a tail-wagging afternoon of family fun as Coleraine Connect presents the Big Bark Dog Show on Saturday, 18th July.
Taking place at the Event Space at The Diamond, Coleraine, the free community event promises an afternoon packed with entertainment, laughter and plenty of canine charm.
Registration opens at 12 noon beside Coleraine Town Hall, with judging getting underway at 1pm.
Entry is free, with places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so owners are encouraged to arrive early to secure their place.
Hosted by the ever-popular Willie Gregg, the event is supported by Wolfepack Dog Walking, Alpha One Doggie Daycare and Let Loose Agility Park.
Whether you’re entering your beloved pet or simply coming along to soak up the atmosphere, there will be something for everyone.
Visitors can enjoy live music from DJ Triggs and Jamie Sloan, while younger visitors can enjoy face painting, balloon modelling and keep an eye out for special appearances from Bluey and Marshall from Paw Patrol.
Dogs will compete across ten fun-filled categories including Best Puppy (3–12 months), Golden Oldie (8 years and over), Best Trick and Best Junior Handler (13 years and under)
Chairman of Coleraine Connect, Jonny Fielding, said: “The Big Bark Dog Show is one of those events that perfectly captures what Coleraine Connect is all about, bringing people together, creating memorable experiences and celebrating our fantastic community.
“We know how much people love their dogs, and this is a wonderful opportunity to have some fun while also promoting responsible dog ownership.
“We would ask everyone bringing a dog to be a responsible owner by keeping their dog on a lead at all times, ensuring it is well behaved and cleaning up after it. By working together, we can make it a safe, welcoming and enjoyable afternoon for everyone in the heart of Coleraine.”
The top three dogs in every category will each receive a rosette, certificate and prize, with the first-place winners taking home a prize generously donated by local businesses.
