Sydney, Australia — Pinterest has appointed Julie Henderson as Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, strengthening its executive leadership as the platform continues to expand its global business, products, and advertiser ecosystem.
Starting on 13 July, Henderson will oversee Pinterest’s global communications strategy across corporate, product, policy, financial, consumer, international, and internal communications.
Henderson will report to Chief Marketing Officer Claudine Cheever and work closely with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bill Ready.
The appointment supports Pinterest’s next stage of growth, with Henderson expected to help strengthen the company’s global narrative while guiding communications across business transformation, public policy, and international expansion.
Cheever said Henderson’s extensive experience leading communications through complex business and regulatory environments made her the right leader as Pinterest continues to scale.
“Julie is one of the most accomplished communications executives in the industry, and we are thrilled to welcome her to Pinterest. As we continue to scale our platform and deepen our impact for users and advertisers worldwide, her experience navigating complex policy landscapes, major business transformations, and high-stakes narratives makes her exactly the right leader for this moment,” said Cheever.
Prior to joining Pinterest, Henderson served as Chief Communications Officer at Snap Inc., where she helped shape the company’s evolution beyond messaging into a broader technology platform spanning advertising, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and developer technologies.
She also led communications at 21st Century Fox during its acquisition by The Walt Disney Company and previously served as chief communications officer at News Corp, overseeing corporate communications during major organisational changes.
With more than 30 years of experience across technology and media, Henderson has advised executive leadership teams on corporate strategy, public policy, business transformation and reputation management.
Commenting on her appointment, Henderson shared, “I’m excited to be joining Pinterest at such an important time in the company’s journey. What drew me to Pinterest was not only the strength of the business and the product, but also the people and the ambition for what comes next.”
“Pinterest has an incredible opportunity ahead, and I feel very fortunate to have the chance to help tell that story. I can’t wait to get started,” she added.
Henderson’s appointment reflects Pinterest’s continued investment in executive leadership as the company strengthens its position with users, creators, and advertisers worldwide while navigating an increasingly complex communications landscape.
