Investigators are looking into what caused a house fire in the Wyandotte neighborhood Thursday evening.Around 9 p.m., fire crews were called out to the 700 block of Evelyn Avenue, which is near Churchill Downs, for a reported house fire.When Louisville Fire got to the scene, they saw smoke coming from the house. It took them about 15 minutes to get the fire under control. The fire was primarily in the kitchen area of the home. Firefighters searched the home, finding no occupants, but four pets. One dog had died, but two other dogs and a rabbit were rescued. The home’s residents were displaced by the fire, but officials said they declined help from the American Red Cross.The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
